Same, the game looks great but I'm not at all interested in mulitplayer gaming. Would it be a waste to buy?

The single-player mode is very limited, it only gives you part of the single-player game. This game is very addicting, as I have 1031 hours of gameplay. Multi-player is very nice and has a friendly community with great admins.

The only thing you should be aware of is the teams game-mode in multi-player. If you're new, don't play it, people go crazy about n00bs. Overal really nice and good game, must buy!

Thanks for the info, as I am really not into multiplayer games at the moment will likely give this a pass, though may grab it in a future sale.

I personally think that multiplayer is just an enhancement to the game.
I would say it is very good in single player. And that you should reconsider multiplayer if you played enough for yourself…

So I would say it is worth to play alone as well!

Randomization does pretty good job. SP Vacuum mode fore example is about conquering all planets in a limited amount of time. Each time you play it is all different. AI however is not totally random. If you restart you game, AI will play same if you play same, meaning that it can be really enjoying to try to beat AI on hardest difficulty because AI would react to your same actions same ways so you will have to try different ways of approaching AI to win. Variety of gamemodes make game potentially great for times when you have nothing else to play and you just need to relax.

It's a cheap game and definitely worth the money even if you're just going to play single player.
