Any way to kill a drosera achilles in single player?

I get the drosera down about 200 pts but then it regenerates back to full in a flash.

It doesn't flee it justs regenerates while standing there as I'm shooting it.

The typical successful method may not satisfy your hunter instincts. BUT players build baracades or platforms and go at it with the highest level weapons available - highest level beam sniper rifle with LOTS of ammo, or a Phos Axe. Some also use a car as an obstacle to manuver around.
AND of course the red Phos armor from head to toe.

Thanks Tommy, I am already using a platform and the refined beam sniper rifle, I was wondering if there was a better weapon to offset the regeneration of the drosera or something else I might have overlooked to enhance my damage or weaken the drosera.

Also, Drosera take different damage depending on where you hit them. Keep targetting the spot that has the higher damage number.

Thanks Bob, I found that out as I just killed a drosera using the phosphori rifle and you are right I was only doing 16pts/shot on a head shot but when I targeted the nib in the center of the "face" I got 25pts/shot.

If you play single player take 600-700 rounds of ammo, the phosphori does less damage than the refined beam sniper rifle but the rate of fire and larger clip gives a higher dps.

I did find it odd that I could kill the flame beast with the sniper rifle but not the lower level drosera.
