cant join official or unofficial servers?

so i try to join a server and it starts loading and then out of the blue it makes a noise as if i just joined but then it kicks me out to the main menu

Usually on first running the program, you have to make two attempts to join a server. First attempt always fails, and the second usually goes through. Then for the remainder of the day, as long as you don't restart your computer, you should be able to begin the program again and join a server on the first attempt.

I'm pretty sure this is because while the game is loading assets, it doesn't communicate with the server and drops the connection. Once assets are loaded, there's no problem connecting.

i am using an HDD, however i will say i never had this issue beforehand. however i did eventually get it to work. was not a cache issue or anything else. i just had to hold the w key and it from what i seen, it appears that it makes the server pickup that i am pushing a key (moving in game) and so it connects me but if i dont do anything i time out or something. its weird

also if need be i have comcast (pre 1tb limits plan so i have unlimited high speed internet) also i am using c6 ethernet (no wifi) and my modem settings are about as open as a cat house after ww2 xD like the only thing i can do to make my modem more open is remove the wifi password on the router upnp is on, all that good stuff

again though i havent played in well almost a year so idk what happened that could of caused it.

Comcast has been known to have inconsistencies in Internet connection reliability. One trick to help with this that has worked for a lot of people is to change your DNS provider from your ISP's to something else. Google currently offers a free DNS service and many have claimed it works wonderfully. Just search "Google DNS." It's just an easy thing you could try.
