Update 0.2 (Family Tree and Water Biomes) - Feedback and Bug Reports
Dear pack

Yay the update is here :D
Well, not officially yet since it needs a bit of testing first.
(The game is still on version 0.1.9 now)
We would be very grateful if you could help us with this :)

What is new?


- Rivers

- New field types for the water biomes

- New genes (Horn slot, Horn color, Blood Clotting Slot, Water genes ...)

- Family tree

- Added the "Killer Island" for hardcore survivers. You can find its port on the Top-Island

- Bug fixes

- Maaany other things I'm totally forgetting right now

If you want to help us with the testing:
> right click on Niche in your library
> click on properties
> select the beta tab
> enter “supermutation” and click check code
> select the dropdown and choose preview
> the game will update, please wait (restart Steam if the game is not updating)

Ok now I will challenge myself to reach and survive Killer Island without using the mutation menu >=D
This might just be me having to play the game in fast graphics, but my world is water-less. I hear the sounds for it and when I zoom out I can see the waves on my Niches when they're in it but the water itself is not there.
Mine says version 0.1.9. Is it normal? Why in the original post it says version 0.2?
Haven't had the water glitch myself, so that may not be an issue for everyone. Haven't had a great deal of time to really get it all tested out yet, but what I've managed has worked just fine for me. I don't have enough generations yet to see if the family tree still has the wiggly issues that it did last update, and no one has died yet, so how it responds to that has yet to be seen. It does seem like they're living a little longer than they did last update which is nice, it gives more time to connect andd less of a 'must have babies or die' or feel.

The water is working fine for me, got gills and water body first try, and everything seemed fine there. If I come up agaist any glitches I'll bring them up.
To Devs: Can you please make them regain 3 action points per day instead of 2.. It felt like their life span decrease by 33%. For example if I send one of my guys to explore, it will die before it reach the other side of the map.

Also from the family tree menu. I wish you can add a button in the animal portrait where if you click it the screen will jump to that animal location. Sometimes when I'm looking at the family tree menu then find 1 guy that I want to breed. If the population is high, you have to click 1 by 1 to find that one guy.

I'm sorry, I just really hate the fact that they don't regain all their action points each day. It feels like none of them can ever do anything and the game has lost all it's fun for me
A bug I've come across is that when one of the babies was born, for some reason they wouldn't get any older or gain any gems when the days had passed, so were just stuck in the nest.

P.S. Loving the update so far, the new genes are great - good work!
Oh man did it get a lot harder but I love it >:P good job there. Only encounter two bugs I believe, one was when breeding one of my females who had a claw she'd hurt the male everytime. Next has to do with the water body, I can't see a difference in the water breathing. I put two creatures in the water one with and one without water body. Both after one turn had run out of oxygen. So far this is all I have found, keep it up devs! :D

P.S. I really love the upkeep feature no more using food up to explore, move, or breed. Just makes more sense now :3.

Hey this is a relly stupid question i know but how can i update from 0.1.5??
I'm also not particularly enjoying having to track down every new creature that shows up. It's very difficult to get any other creatures to join my pack and the game just flies by without anything happening. It would be better if we could toggle some of those more difficult features on and off or something
Just dowloaded the beta, I am home sick today so it came out at the perfect time. I can't wait to help you guys test it out. I will update as I play through it! :)
The Swimming body for the +1 UnderWaterBreathing does not work, and appears to discolour the body from the legs, head, and tail.
The funny thing is the biggest threat hiding in the grass isn't even the carnivore anymore, it's the horny male with the spiky body! If he mates with one of your females she gets harmed and if you hit him you both get harmed! :steamfacepalm: Also if you lick one of your pack mates wound that has the spiky body you will get harmed, and not to mention if you just TOUCH(mate) anyone with the spiky body you'll get harmed and vice versa. I love the update so much to learn, so challenging! Watch out for your aquatic creatures too, if they dont have gills they won't be able to breath underwater ;)
