Feature Idea: Mann Up Cash Banking with the Bank of Mann Bank (BoMB)
Hey folks! Long time player, first time poster here.

Ever been short on cash in a mission with a terrible scout, or (*gasp*) no scout? Ever been pretty flush and wish you could save it for later? Well, here's my idea:

Mann Up Cash Vouchers.

How do they work?
A Cash Voucher is valid for a specific mission - for example, Operation Gear Grinder. Cash Vouchers must be activated at the same time as other vouchers (before joining a game). Once in the game, you will receive an additional cash bonus at the beginning of each round. The amounts will be based on the difficulty of the mission and the wave number (e.g. $50 for wave 1, maybe $200 for wave 7). As with other vouchers, it is only consumed upon the completion of a mission.

How do I get cash vouchers?
Cash vouchers may be purchased from the Mann Co store, if you're a wimp and enjoy paying people to do things you find too difficult. OR, you can be EXTRA Mannly and make your own cash vouchers. Here's how:

Once in game, there will be a new "Banking" tab in the upgrades screen. From this screen, you may use your extra cash to save money toward a cash voucher. In order to get the voucher, you must purchase the cash voucher upgrade at the beginning of each wave in the mission (they will be disabled after the wave starts, or if you missed the upgrade in a previous round). The price of the upgrade will be the same amount as the money you'll get back when using the voucher. If, upon completion of the mission, you have purchased the cash voucher upgrade for every wave, you will be awarded a cash voucher for that mission (it will show on the same screen as the loot). These vouchers may also be traded.

That's it! What do you think?

Interesting idea. but I'm worried about those people trying to bank cash. Forcing the rest of the team to carry them.

That is a potential issue, though it's mitigated at least some by the fact that you don't get the voucher unless you complete the mission.

So you dont get the voucher unless you complete? Interesting dynamic.

So this is really only going to reward plays/teams that are good in the first place and complete a mission while being penalised (not spending during the match). Which would then be used to EASILY win the next rounds.

I do like the idea but I could see this being a self fulfilling prophecy abused by good squads in which a couple of players not upgrading the the rest of the team carrying. Rinse/repeat.

A nicer way might be a smaller amount of cash is generated per personal bot kill that can be converted to these vouchers. This way even if your losing a lot of matches your atleast working toward *something* that can help you try and complete.

That is the end goal is it not? Providing a mechanism to counter a lack of money collected?

It would need to be limited, though, otherwise it would turn the game into one of those grind-yourself-to-victory situations so common in flash games.

Yeah...that's sorta a game breaker. Sure it'd make it easier but if that's all you want there are plenty of Bootcamp servers that give you 10000 Cash to start with. Seriously. It does take the fun out of the game though. It makes the early waves laughably easy and the later waves a grind.

The point you have to remember is this is *TEAM* FOrtress. It's not about *YOU* blazing through like you're on god mode it's about *YOU* working *WITH* your *TEAM* to *WIN*.

2 words: NO P2W, although thats sorta like 4 words, but Valve didnt want you to be able to pay to gain an advantage, although it is against robots.....also what start running says, the missions are balance to make sure that advanced mode is advanced, and expert is harder.

I'd personally rather they add an upgrade for cash collection amount, maybe $100 for +1% more cash per drop, up to five points.

Why not, but at the downside that robots get more damage, speed, etc. After all, they run on money, and if they have more money inside, they have more fuel, more energy. :)
