Call of Duty Black Ops II has crafting? TF2 homage or rip off?
Well, a friend told me about some new things in Black Ops II. Eight new players, zombies, a bus, new maps, a new setting , a new zombie mode and- CRAFTING?

Apparently you can craft stuff into things that beat back the civilian zombies, such as riot shields.

I am not sure whether they are paying homage to TF2, probably the first game to have crafting, or SHAMELESSLY RIPPING OFF THE CRAFTING.

Discuss.

Eh, as popular as TF2 is, even by practically word of mouth, I can see how they could use this as free publicity. Sides TF2 got it from RPG's/MMORPG's to poke fun at the people calling it "WoW fortress", with the random drop system out and critical hits.

I think of it more of a homage, Call of Duty isn't really a bad game/series, the games are quite good, if not a tad repettitive. it just has a very, VERY, toxic community. They mean well I bet, and I don't think we should be basing everything off of it's community.

Who's to say that Minecraft isn't ripping off TF2 by implementing crafting?

What about every other game that was released after TF2? Are they ripping it off too?

What about the old medieval times? Did blacksmiths rip off tf2!? Is crafting a lie?

Because crafting existed within TF2, totally true.

Have you seen the crafting in the game?

You collect random pieces of stuff off the ground (Such as a Fan, a Wheel, A maniken, etc) and place combine it with something else. You experiment around and try to make some new stuff.

Crafting isn't a concept owned or invented by TF2 :\ It's a pretty common feature in a lot of new games being released nowadays. I'm pretty sure Skyrim has crafting, right? (Not saying Skyrim's new, btw xD)
EDIT: Also, TF2 wasn't close to being the first game to have crafting. Everquest, anybody?

Crafting is something you will find in probably every fifth game that comes out on the market.

This is probably the CoD hate shining again. Dozens of other games use crafting - when CoD does it? Haha, good luck with that.

Yes, in fact remember how many people started to calling TF2 a RPG or something else game?

So yeah, crafting game concept existed way before than TF2 and it's a common feature anyway
