I think I found out the source of the crashes...
I was playing this a couple days ago when the game updated and all the crashes happend.. And, like lots of other people, have crashed almost everytime they've entered a server.. I entered a few servers and crashed on everyone. except one that didnt connect to the item server..
Then the next day (which is today) I play again.. I start crashing again everytime I play on a server.. Then I read the discussions about the game crashing and found someone posted about them not crashing when loadout is down.. So, I tested it out.. I unplugged my Internet and played on offline practice.. I didn't have my loadout.. and, strangely enough, no crashes..
So, I'm just gonna guess that the Item server is making everyone crash... What do you guys think?

Well, I've noticed the same pattern you have. However, there's also a problem I've had when playing without an item loadout: After around an hour, the game stops accepting inputs for controlling mouse or contextual input. For example, pressing your chat key brings up the chat prompt, but you can't actually type anything in it, and your cursor location is locked in place. Pressing the change team or change class buttons result in the screens appearing and not allowing you to change; you are now forever locked in that screen. In addition, the escape and dev console menus break, so it is impossible to exit without entering the equivalent of Task Manager.

I hope that that is indeed the bug. Because then "they" know what to look for.
Thanks for the info, I'll also give it a try.

I've had that happen to me a few times.. but that was before this update.

Well, this is a disappointment. Hopefully they'll have it patched within the next few days, because I'm getting antsy without my TF2 time.

My game crashes most often when I equip my powerjack and about to smack someone. Any other weapon I rarely see a crash (though with the most recent update, my game will randomly "freeze" anywhere from half a second to 15, looks similar to a crash but eventually resumes).

I usually have something to say. But alas i have had NO crashes, so i do not have anything to say except. Good Luck.

I have no serious crashes, but I did have some incidents with the Item Server.

One time, it wouldn't let you equip or unequip weapons.

And another time, it went crazy and you still had some of your usual items equipped, but stocks were mixed in there as well.
