Looking for a 'refreshing' chat about the Mannconomy? Well, this is the place, I guess, unless you're like me and want to come here to rant.

What are your opinions on the current state of the Mannconomy? I personally think we're going in the wrong direction. The Rich Guys(That's their nicknames from now on) want prices to be higher(Hence those Key price increases) and the Poor Guys(Clever nicknames, I know) want stuff to be lower. It's just a big tug-a-war out there, with Middle-Class players like me in the middle with the rope tied to each end of our bodies.

What should we do about this? Well, community-driven prices isn't the solution. Too much greed involved. Something more 'Official' would be nice. I'm sure Valve could make a pseudo Stock-Market if they really wanted to.

have a point there... I think it's ridiculous how everyone thinks buds are so great... i mean really, 23-26 keys for a promo? if this still was going on, then we would have a bud for every promo! think about it!

Buds are pretty rare, I suppose, since I think only Mac users got them, so not that many were given out, but I don't think anything should be worth that much though, except probably the H.O.U.W.A.R. I could understand Vintage and other one-time items being expensive, but 20+ keys isn't really a great total.

I am honestly very surprised at how much strange Flare Guns have gone up in price. They went from a refined when i last checked to a key nowadays.

Look at Carbonado Botkillers; They're decreasing in price seemingly every day. I worked just as hard to get that as I did with a Diamond. They shouldn't be any lower than 1.5-2 keys.

Keys have gone up. On spreadsheet they are 2.77-2.88 refined, and people on Outpost are selling them for 3 refined! And people are just taking it! If a majority of people put their foot down and said no too buying keys at that price, then they would go back down.

I can only dream of having them. :( If I could get an Unusual, my dream might be in sight, but out of the MANY crates I've unboxed, I've gotten nothing. :/

Well, I figured that they'd understand that it's less tickets, but more difficulty, so it's supposed to even out. I don't think the bug should affect prices THAT much on them. The price drops are coming very, very quickly.

While I'm not the richest of guys, to my understanding, I'm still pretty far up there (last I checked, I think my back pack was valued at ~$400 dollars). I think everyone would be better off if everyone was just given everything - or if everyone could just choose like 10 hats/other stuff to enjoy. The Mannconomy, in general, is the main reason I've stopped playing.

I know what you mean. I don't think you're flaming at all. I like the Mannconomy personally, because it's fun to act like we know how to run an Economy, when we cleraly don't.

It does seem to control some people though. It'd be nice if Valve had official trading servers, and regular servers enforced no trading more so there would be more playing than trading. I think trading does good for interaction amongst the community, but I can see why it could affect someone who just wants to play the game.

I'd have prefered to buy 'hat slots'. So, if you have one hat slot, you have access to any single hat at a time, but you have to exit out of the server your one, fiddle with a menu to change it, then log back in. If you buy more hat slots, you would have the ability to just quick select them or equip multiple different hats on different classes (or the same class, in the case of miscs) - instead of having all classes wear just the one hat (or no hat).

I say that, if prices continue to increase and become wavey and unrecognizable, that Valve should increase drop rates and increase the amount of things that can be dropped. That'd help control some of the prices. Maybe re-release Buds as a Super-Special Item in a crate. Just SOMETHING.
