It went through a bizzare expiriment involving teleporters, a random passerby, the Medic, a rubber band, and ducttape.
REASONING:
1) Pyro compliments the engy as a defence for sentries
2) The gass mask is a little elongated for a normal gasmask. Peraps due to the cartoony graphics...OR IS IT!?
3) He is featured sitting on the floor in a comic, and also near the Engy most of the time.
4) Even with a gas mask like that, you should be able to make audible noises, the pyro does not, why? His vocal cords are a DNA disaster!
5) He has a birdcage, rubber glove, and shoe hat.
And there ya go.
My personal take on the Pyro's gender is female. The purse in each spawn room that belongs to the Pyro, and her fascination with Pyroland and interacting with the baby mercs leads me to believe that. There used to be things on the main menu of TF2 that would encourage you to play as a certain class more or to beat a record for that class. It would sometimes refer to Pyro as a woman. For example: "Why don't you give her a try?" Pyro's muffled voice could go either way, but it often does sound high and cheerful, and, of course, women's voices can be any tone. I think if she knew what she was doing, which is burning people to death and or brutalizing them with axes and shotguns and flareguns, that she wouldn't do it. She thinks she's feeding babies lollipops and blowing bubbles at them. I'm not sure why a man would want to live in a world like Pyroland. But hey, anything's possible.
Why not use "they're"?
I want to live in Pyroland, that place is metal.
