Help with TF2

I recently downloaded TF2 and tried to play it. The screen was turned sideways, so I googled for help. I managed to fix that, but then came another problem: the game screen only showed a little part of the game in the middle of the screen. How con I fix this?

Have you tried launching the game with the -autoconfig launch parameter?

To do this, right click on Team Fortress 2 in your game library and click Properties. Then, under the General Tab, click Set Launch Options.

In the new window, type
-autoconfig
And press "OK".

Now try to launch the game. Remember to remove the launch parameter after exiting the game else your graphics settings for TF2 will reset every time you launch the game.

Are your graphics drivers completely up to date and all that?

Yes I believe, but I fixed it. Changed the resolution or w/e it is to 1280x800. I tried changing that earlier but there wasn't option for 1280x800. Thanks for your help though.

There should be. Make sure the Aspect Ratio in the TF2 graphics options is set to 16:10!

What is your screen resolution?

1280x800. Now that I got TF working, there came another problem: it crashes all the time.

Define "all of the time"? What are you doing when it crashes? What is the error it gives, if any, when it crashes? And what are your system specs?

i had the same problem especialy in the "Liste D'objets ( in french )" well sometimes i see that problem and sometimes i don't so try to restart TF2 when you got that problem

It crashes a few minutes after I've opened it, no matter what I do.
Specs:
Processor: Intel 1.66GHz
RAM: 1528MB

What about graphics? Are you running a low-end laptop? Possibly on integrated graphics?

I don't know about the graphics, but yes, this computer is quite old. All non-Steam games work well on it, though.

If you're running on integrated graphics then TF2 most likely will not run well at all.
Try to find out?

If you go to Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters it should tell you.

If not, maybe if you Google search for the specs of your laptop model you'll be able to find out?

Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family, I believe. Also whenever I have Steam open, my computer gets very laggy.

Yeah, you're on integrated graphics. Your computer isn't powerful enough to run TF2. Sorry!
