Team Fortress 2
Highlander/6 vs 6 general questions
I'd really like to play one of those "gamemodes" (not competetive though, at least not yet), but nearly all my friends who play tf2 are rather casual players. SO what I'd like to ask is a) how can I find/join a 6 vs 6 (or highlander) game and how can I practice for it? Also, what "skill level" do I need to reach to compete in one of those gamemodes (remember, I'm not talking about any championships)? Do I need to be good at market gardening? how good do i need to be at airblasting (do I need to be able to airblast rockets, do the "airblast + reserve shooter" combo, do I need to be able to airblast jarate/bonk/flare gun projectiles? I assume i don't need to be able to airblast huntsman arrows...)

How you practice really depends on what class you want to main. In 6 v 6 the core classes are Demo, Scout, Medic and Soldier while the other classes are rarely played, so if you want to start playing 6 v 6 you should main one of those classes. Highlander however you can play any class. You have around 900 hours so I'm going to assume you're already above average at this game so that is good enough. There are tonnes of pick up games you can play which cator to inexperienced people like yourself. You also need a mic to properly communicate with your team.

Join http://steamcommunity.com/groups/6v6newmix this is for people who haven't played 6s and want to learn, there will be a mentor to teach you in your team.

Add me if you want advice in further detail.

Thanks for the detailed information, I'll need to practice if I want to play 6s though, I don't play medic or demo very often, and I'm a bad scout :/
The link doesn't work btw
There still is a remaining question: where do I find ppl to play with? is there some website?

Sorry.

or

tf2lobby.com - this site is where random people join to play 6s and highlander, there is a wide range of skills ranging from flat out dumb to god like. I don't reccomend if you don't like people raging at you because there will be a lot of tryhards who hate newbies. However if you find a good lobby with tolerant people it can be fun, in highlander try pick classes such as scout, sniper and spy because they are the least important. Do not play Medic, Demo or heavy as they are the most important and people will be mad at you if you play them bad.

Try tf2lobby.com, it's kinda like pub comp, if that makes any sense at all.
