Team Fortress 2
Adding competitive matchmaking and the commend/report system to TF2
Have you wanted to play a 6v6 or Highlander match yet not have the skills to play in a leauge? How about competitive matchmaking like in Dota and CS:GO? There would be an added option on the menu screen on TF2 called "Competitive matchmaking". You have the choice of doing 6v6 or Highlander (one of each class) match that you must commit to or you will lose the option to play competitive matchmaking for a while.

If you've played CS:GO or Dota 2 you know that you can open up the scoreboard and commend/report people if you liked/disliked their conduct by clicking on them on the scoreboard. Why not bring this system to TF2, one of Valve's most popular games?

So you can now browse through the players on the server you're playing on using the ^ and v arrow keys to get to the guy you want to commend/report you can also use < and > to alternate between teams if you want to commend/report the enemy scum. I think this would be a nice addition to TF2 and it would help improve the community, Valve would punish reported people and commended people can see how many times they've been commended for different things on the home menu.

Commend options:
Friendly player
Good Teacher
Good Leader
Good team player

Report Options:
You would simply type in a box what this player was doing wrong (abusive language, scamming, micspamming on servers where micspamming is prohibited etc.)

Like the idea?

There actually is speculation that competitive matchmaking will be added this year.

Really? That'd be amazing.
The fact that this thread got buried makes me kinda sad.

I dont like this idea.

Because i KNOW that competitive will be flooded by f2p nubz which have no idea what they are doing.

And the will be rarely used, and report will be basically overused by f2ps mentioned before.
