Block it, via a guide. You can block ALL pinion ♥♥♥♥ if you change a file in your computer I think. But I did it a while ago and I don't remember.

If blocking "pinion" is all it takes, you need to add their ad host to the "hosts" file in the Windows folder (donno about other systems).
Let me search for the host, i'll be back shortly...

Edit: Well, basically, http://nopinion.tumblr.com/ has it all, follow instructions on their second post.

For ease i'll relay the instructions here.

In Windows, edit C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (it’s just a text file so you can use Notepad but make sure you run Notepad as Administrator otherwise you won’t be able to save the file)

127.0.0.1 motd.pinion.gg

Note: Windows 8 users must exempt the Hosts file from Windows Defender

On a Mac you can edit /etc/hosts adding the same entry above.

This is completely harmless as all it says is that if your PC tries to connect to motd.pinion.gg that the IP is 127.0.0.1 which is your PC’s local address. So instead of loading ad HTML the connection will just fail.

A note: "pinion" might change their ads host, so be ready to change the setting.
I tried to connect to motd.pinion.gg, it had nothing. Maybe the host URL already switched.

The thing is that some servers will stop you from playing until you turn them on.
It forces you into spectator, and tells you how to turn them on.
If you try to join a team, it puts you back into spectator, and shows the message again.
After you turn the HTML MotD back on, it shows you the game crashing ad.

Yeah thanks, that's true, there are some that do that, others just make you wait. A tad sloppy, ad exposure being the goal.
