Halloween Spell on a Festive Holy Mackerel that came out after Spells expired?
I just recently traded for a Festive Holy Mackerel, and I noticed that there is the Halloween Spell Exorcism on it. The effect does not show in game (as in they don't turn into little ghosts when I kill people w/ it), and a description tag has been used on it. Help explain?

I like how novel it is. I'd buy it myself, but I'm broke right now.

Don't get attached to it, try to sell it off whenever you can before valve rolls out a patch that deletes the effects once and for all.

Well, they've already released 3 patches to try and get rid of items like that, although I wouldn't say they'd keep trying. The only thing I'm most confused about is why there's a Halloween Spell on a Christmas item that came out after the Spells expired... :/

Thank You JaCe!!! this is around the best explanation I've heard, but there's been 3 patches released to try and get rid of these kinds of items. Why hasn't this one been removed (as in the spell removed, not the item)?

It's also possible that the spell has been applied after the expiration date. If you store a spell on another account and don't run TF2, it won't expire. You can then start TF2 on another account, trade the spell to this account after TF2 has already started, and apply it to an item.

Thanks! Didn't know that was possible. If anyone else knows anything else on how this could happen, please inform me on it.
