Heavy Primary: The Big Bertha
Named after a cannon and apparently a number of
different enemies from the Mario series, such as...um
...some sort of fish. Yeah. Anyway:

+ 50% firing speed
+ 40% damage
+ 95% pushback on enemies
- 40% accuracy
- 80% spinup speed
- Wearer can not move while spinning up or firing
- 30% move speed penalty

So in other words, it's wildly effective in wide-open areas, but
it allows enemies a fair ammount of time to get to cover, and you
can't really maneuver around to a better angle without stopping, going
over and spinning it up AGAIN, giving the enemy another chance
to escape tot he next bit of cover and get in a bit of damage on you.

40% more damage is insane, ive played brass beast heavy a lot and i think 20% is immense, so 40% is just going to ruin tf2, and the fast firing speed just breaks the game, also 95% pushback on enemies................
what the f*** were you thinking when you typed those stats, did you honestly even consider this thing to be 0.000001% balenced

The spin up seems to take way too long to be useful. The slower movement speed also makes it worse. You would need to use the GRU or teleporters to be able to get anywhere unless you're defending an area quickly reachable. This is basically a more extreme version of the Brass Beast. It's only use would be defense when the area you need to go to is a short distance away.

I don't see how this is that unbalanced. The Brass Beast is practically useless. The stock minigun can do everything the Brass Beast can and more. The higher DPS that this gun offers is negated by the fact that enemies are being pushed away from you and you're completely immobile. Spin up also takes way too long. If you're caught unrevved, you would probably be dead unless you're carrying a shotgun. There's no way that the minigun would rev fast enough before the enemy does decent damage to you.

WHAT THE FLUCK. This is insane. Did you even think this through before typing this?

It would be especially OP in CP Defense and MvM because of the knockback.

Not really. The minigun would greatly enchance the heavy's role of defense in exchange of pratically making him useless on offense. It might be a little strong if the heavy is defending a point, but he needs support from his team to do it efficiently. Otherwise, soldiers and demomen could just kill him easily with spam. The heavy would also only have only one purpose, which is to defend an area. He cannot lead pushes at all with this minigun. I don't really think that MvM should be considered while discussing balance.

I can tell you why you said that, you havn't even given it a chance D:
youve probably taken a look at it(maybe tried it for about 30 seconds on 2fort) and jumped back to the stock minigun, I gave brass beast a chance and now its Server-Clearing and i know a load of tactics i can use to negate the downside.
its like a lot of weapons, nobody gives them a chance (KGB for example)

I have played with the Brass Beast for quite awhile. Unless you're running heavy solely for defense, Brass Beast is terrible compared to stock. The slower speed while revved makes it even easier to get hit, and it makes the fact that the heavy needs help from his teammates even worse. The slower spin up speed also ruins it's potential for offense. A heavy with the stock minigun can do almost everything that the Brass Beast can better. The only time it doesn't overshadow the Brass Beast is when playing defense only. The Brass Beast may be a fine weapon on its own, but it is inferior compared to stock.

The KGB also suffers from being overshadowed by a superior weapon. The KGB cannot compare to the utility of the GRU. If you just look at it by itself, it would be a rather balanced upgrade to the stock fists, but it pales in comparision to the GRU.

> +50% firing speed
> +40% damage

...You realize that would make it kill any class except maybe another heavy in about one second even from mid-range

I'm not entirely sure on the DPS of this gun, but it would need a rather large upside considering the downside. You're immobile while using it and you can't efficiently attack with this because of the long spin up. All you can really do is camp an area, but you can still get killed easily. There is less accuracy too, so using it at mid range probably wouldn't be wise.

Incredibly OP. All you would need is a dispenser and you can camp out an entire area with this thing

If you want to come up with a +X/-Y weapon, please do the math in advance.

You know that pushback factors with firing speed, right?
1,5*1,95=2,925
292,5% of stock pushforce.
That's nearly crit pushforce. All the time.
Even with 30% less bullets hitting you have over 200% of regular pushforce.

Further, you know that firing speed factors with damage when it comes to damage/time output?
1,5*1,4=2,1
That is 210% of the stock minigun's damage/sec.
That's a base damage/sec of 756.
Even if we assume that with less accuracy 30% less shots hit we still have about 150% of stock's damage output - and spread over a 30% bigger area.

Okay, more acceptable Stats.

Name: Big Bertha
Weapon: Heavy Primary
Stats:

Normal -
+ 10% firing Speed
+ 50% Pushback on Enemies
+ Max Ammo 300 (Instead of 200), but firing rate is 4 Shots per second.
- 10% less Damage while Undeployed
- 40% Accuracy
- 50% spinup Speed
Upon Special Attack (Mouse 3) Deploy the Big Bertha as a stationary Minigun.

While Deployed -
+ No Spinup Required
+ 50% Faster Firing Speed
+60% Pushback on enemies
+ Max Ammo 300 (Instead of 200), but firing rate is 2 Shots per second.
+ 25% Firing Speed
+ 15% More Damage while deployed
- Heavy cannot move while deployed
- Heavy cannot collect ammo from Dispensers while deployed
Upon Special Attack (Mouse 3) Deploy back to Normal.

This would encourage users to find good spaces to deploy the minigun to aid in picking off key targets with their teammates, without being OPed as hell. But, it would disallow heavies from sitting near a dispenser and never moving.

And before people scream these stats are overpowered: The Mingun is weak while not deployed, and when deployed, the Heavy is threatened by Spies, Snipers, Demos and Pyros. How is it not balanced again?
