Soldier Melee: The Battle Paddle
The Battle Paddle
Has huge melee range, about 150% of the eyelander's

+ 860% pushback bonus
+ Critical hits stun enemies for 0.5 seconds on hit and do even more pushback
+ 30% swimming speed
+ Crits against charging enemies

- 70% damage penalty (Becasue it swings slowly)
- 40% swing speed penalty
- 50% melee vulnerability on wearer

The idea behind the battle paddle is a melee weapon which isn't
actually that good for combat in its own right, but is simply better for
keeping faster or more dangerous classes at bay. To understand why
such a huge pushback bonus is not OP, you should consider how
pathetically small pushback from most melee weapons really is
and the fact that, once again, this weapon's primary function
is to keep enemies away and isn't very good protection if an
enemy DOES get close.

Do you want people to fly across the freaking map?

The bonus would also confuse alot of people as 860% would seem like ALOT more than it actually is.

When you hit someone with a standard melee weapon, it nudges them back
about the in-game equivalent of 2 inches. +860% = about 8 and a half times
2 inches, so this weapon would push back players about the equivalent of 1
and a half feet or so. So in other words, no.

Yes. It exists for people who are capable of shaping and texturing a detailed 3560-polygon
model, but are unable to think of decent stats for their new weapon.

I am a guy full of stat ideas who has a hard enough time making a 24-polygon
custom Minecraft model and a 16-bit texture to go with it. So maybe when slugs
start migrating to the salt flats to write poetry, I'll give the Steam worksop a go.

It can't be that hard to find someone willing to make a 3D model. And it shouldn't be too hard to make (for that 3D modeler) as it's just a paddle.

Considering that this is a melee weapon, I'm not totally into the idea of 150% of Eyelander's range. However, this would seem quite a great idea, as this weapon is very specialized and I'd like to see those weapons a lot in-game. But if this had, let's say the same range as Eyelander, it would be a pretty great weapon with balance. There would finally be another weapon that rivals Demoknights in Medieval mode (the other being Killing Gloves of Boxing with crits).
