Now This May Sound Stupid...
Me and a friend of mine were thinking of new revolvers for the Spy. Heres so stats we came up with.

+Special Attack: Fire all 6 bullets in rapid succession
- 50% damage
- No random crits
- 25% accuracy during the burst


+100% dmg
-Only have 6 shots total
-No random crits
-Cannot use dropped weapons, dispensers, or ammo boxes to replenish ammo

Nah. Most spies rarely use the pistol unless confronted by an enemy spy wielding one, a razorback sniper, or are just testing out their new enforcer.

The spy's revolver is a back-up weapon so he is not defenseless in combat. Good spys backstab and use their sapper, and only use their revolver when they have to.

Good spies make effective use of every item at their disposal, they don't use the knife as a crutch.

Wouldn't use either of those revolvers. Give me a revolver replacement with no random crits but with no loss of accuracy, either. Enforcer is already more accurate than stock on follow up shots but even that isn't 100% accurate and I dislike the enforcer's reduced fire rate.

When you think about it though, the revolver is an extremely powerful weapon at close range.

The attack interval in Revolvers is 0.58s.

Now it takes 3 shots to kill a Pyro at close range. Assuming you hit all the shots, it takes 1.74 seconds to kill a full health Pyro.

Now let's compare it with the Flamethrower. The attack interval on the Flamethrower is 0.04 secs, and, assuming we're doing it at close range, damages about 6.82/particle, = 0.72 seconds to kill the Spy.

HOWEVER, the Flamethrower is a continuous flow weapon, which means that a lot of particles will be missed, and since the Spy is assumed to be running away, it will cause less damage. The Revolver is a burst damage weapon, so given most circumstances, the Spy has ample time to destroy a Pyro with his Revolver before it kills him.

Quick math, because I think it's needed.

Assuming that all six shots are fired at roughly the same time (instantaneous to roughly half a second per shot), and that all shots hit at medium range:

The revolver will do approximately 120 damage.
(Stock revolver does 35-45 damage per shot at med range, but keep in mind that this does half damage).

At close range it will do approximately 172.5 damage if all shots hit.
(Stock does 55-60 per hit at this range. It'll be hard to miss at this range, too!)

Seems kinda over powered, a quick reload and a single shot could kill off pyros and engineers will probably get killed pretty easily.
