What kind of lag are you talking about?
Are you wanting to increase your performance on the graphical side of things or are you talking about lag regarding your internet connection to the server?

Also this, "type in "-novid and -dxlevel 80" into "set launch options" which is located in TF2 properties on the "steam games" tab" you can set it to 70 or 60...if you have it set to auto it will just run it at a more current version of direct x...I'm guessing it is trying to run it at 9 or 10...the older version of direct x will put less pressure on your hardware causing less performance lag...as for net lag...two fixes are a) stronger internent....I have high speeds due to having comcast, a doc 3.0 modem pushing out 900 then a straight linked gig router from netgear[no, you can't get gig yet, but soon!!!!!!! It just makes sure I'm getting the highest speeds I'm paying for! Yay expensive stuff at bestbuy!] or, there is nothing you can do net wise due to steam's servers! Some are just naturally laggy!

I'm talking about graphial stuff, I want my game to run SUPER smoothly. I dont care about graphics, just the gameplay.

You could probably get a better computer.

But comps that run games like tf2 smoothly without any problems are usually expensive

You could also try finding a server near your area.

Then do what I said.

Try typing "unbind all" into the console, it unbinds all background processes that aren't absolutely vital to playing TF2, like replays, screenshots, and other useless things. If that doesn't work, apply magnets to your computer to make it run faster.

Don't listen to this ♥♥♥♥, it unbinds your keys.

If you have already done so, set your binds back to default on keyboard settings.
