1. Stay behind your patient.
2. If possible, stay behind walls while healing to avoiding heavy fire.
3. Don't go running around with no patient, the Medic has very low survivability.
4. Pop Ubers on people when they're ready to be popped, don't go holding on to them. They recharge, no reason you should hold onto them.

There are some of my tips.
Don't be afraid to use your Uber to save yourself if your patient dies. No Uber and a living Medic is better than no Uber and a dead Medic.

Agreed, thsnks
Going with staying alive, Heavies make good human shields if you are healing them. The large hitbox will stop most projectiles from hitting you, ensuring you both stay alive. Communicate wiht the heavy and get ready to be flanked. The heavy's sandvich can also be used to keep you alive as you heal the heavy.
Don't be a battle medic.
Use your uber when it makes sense to do so, don't waste it. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating it is when a medic pops an uber on me when there are NO enemies around, and then we get to the front line and don't have it when we need it and we both end up dead.

I see many do that as well. I'll be sure to use it when nessacary
It's better to try to keep as many team members with 130-140% health than to "tank" someone. Don't lock on to a single patient until your uber is at 80%. Remember that once you leave pub the enemy will use the status screen to check your uber buildup and try to force you to initiate if you get to 60%+. And for every class in the game: Get a mic.
Attack from far distances until you see potential uber patients or injured teammates. Don't go running around with saw.
BTW, I just sent you a friend request. Talented medics are hard to come by.

i accept
dont be shy about telling heavys to equip sandwitchs if they have them, they can be life savers and you are keeping people healed. if no sandwitchs are available are available go with the blutsgaur and be really accurate with it, you can be quite the treat with developed aim.
  • beware of the w+m1 pyros everybody has been there. Stupid fire range.
  • Types of ubers depend on the situation. If you're combating a sentry don't run kritz. You cant Kritz buildings.
  • You are vital to the team stay around teammates who can protect a medic
  • When the time comes when you uber somebody and your uber is about to finish and you see that you are outnumbered. Bail on your patient it's the smart thing to do, a 15 second respawn for a medic is fate changing.
  • Escaping enemy fire, try zig zagging and run in the right direction, not running away while you're facing your back. When you back peddle you run slower.
  • HEAL EVERYBODY. Don't just pocket one person. Your uber builds faster the more people that are hurt. For example, a soldier with 53 health, demo with 107, and scout/spy at near death will give you a good amount of boost if you heal them. Opposed to only healing a heavy who is at 450 consecutively.

All I can add to the good advice already dispensed; Look behind you often and be wary when near easily accessible drop-downs and when trying to evade sniper shots, never jump.

Spies will often target you and will often stalk you in disguise for a time whilst trying to catch up with the faster Medic. Beware teammates with their primary weapons equipped and not firing or the wrong weapon equipped for their situation (ie Pyro's with their axes out). Spies can drop down (and often do this) large cliffs or off buildings to drop-stab a medic. The cliff on Doomsday and the structures on Harvest are notorious drop-zones I find. Try to avoid these if possible as it's hard to simultaneously keep that full LOS to potential situations and look up for spies also.

A full awareness of what's going on around you as a medic also allows you to learn from people playing their classes and their positions, see potential problems coming up and get heals to that burning teammates just in time.

Whenever your character jumps in the game, you're basically telegraphing your head's future position to the sniper. It's really easy to headshot people when they do this (unless they abuse crouch jumps), only jump when you're being attacked by soldiers or demomen! Be unpredictable and get out of that sniper's LOS!

Finally, when possible try and back your character against a wall. This limits the space you need to be aware of by 180 degrees and helps you focus on what's happening more.
