Unlock achievements for the heavy and/or it will just drop into your inventory magically. All weapons can be obtained through random weekly drops, but some weapons can be automatically acquired by unlocking achievements.

His so called "skill hight" isn't very high, compared to the scout, it is quite short. But a few tips will make you easily crack the roof. Practice is the biggest tip I can give, so practice with these small hints
-Whenever you go around a corner, jump and hold right mouse button to spin the minigun just to be sure if there is an enemy behind that corner
-Always look for spies and sticky traps, these can be a legitamete pain in the A-hole
-Stay with your medic, even if he is healing someone else, you will never know when you'll need medical attention
-ALWAYS kill the enemy medics
-Don't go rushing against a sentry nest, let the pyros and demomen take care of those
-Scouts are small fast ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s, always have your crosshair centered on them if you see one

Coordinate with your team, don't pretend to be Rambo.

You have the most health of any class, but it's not *massively* so compared to how much damage you'll take if you get focus-fired because you're playing lone wolf... and your speed is miserable unless
1) you're using the Gloves of Running Urgently (GRU) as your active weapon, which you shouldn't often do during combat or right before, or
2) a friendly soldier is boosting your speed by hitting you with the Disciplinary Action.

So if you get into a bad situation, it's going to be difficult to escape.

when walking around corners rev up the mingun, dont go into large open areas where snipers could kill you, and check your back for spies

I'll give you the most basic advice for heavy which was probably covered above.
-Heavy is all about positioning, being away from your team means you're more likely to get focus fired and taken down
-As Heavy you should be helping the team with pushes (Sentry nest, killing enemy medic, objectives, etc.)
-Communicate with your team often (This does not include exclusively using the MEDIC! button)

A tip: DON'T USE THE TOMISLAV IF YOU AE NOT TOO SKILLED.
Seriusly, the Tomislav is quite hard, don'tget fool from silent snip up: that doesen't mean that you shoot silently, just snip up silent, and the less rate-of-fire is quite painful in a hevy dule without medics nor other factors.

I don't want to be a total buzz kill but the tomislav is a direct downgrade from the stock with the recent changes. The faster spin up time doesn't make up for the RoF lost. It was actually viable at 40% faster spinup IMO but I don't want to get too much into that since I still used stock during that time. There isn't really any good sidegrades for the minigun except potentially Natasha and the Heater.

As a heavy, you are the guy which makes pushes happen. Co-ordinate with your team and with a medic so that when you jump in, you can destroy whatever your objective is and the rest of your team should be right behind you on clean up duty.
Open areas are death, flank and flank again. Use GRU to get into combat quickly or to escape, but NEVER use it in combat. Actually, don't use melees in combat as a heavy PERIOD.
Spies are going to target you 100% since most heavies are dumb and blind, especially in combat when they develop tunnel vision. Don't be that heavy.
Add me if you want, I got a lot of experience in the game which will help you with anything you need to know.
