Will an upgrading gift make you a premium steam user.

So I have an upgrade to premium gift. I want to give it to my friend, he's f2p and a limited steam user, so he cannot trade. I need to know how to send him this upgrader, and if it'll make him a full steam user (can do anything a premium steam user can (trade, chat, etc)

I'll also bring up I've noticed gifting a F2P account a dota2 copy will make them premium as well.

I think that premium users can trade to f2p users, just that f2p users can't put anything up in the trade

You can freely give anything to a F2P user in a trade. Anything a F2P player receives in a trade they can then later trade theirself.

No, but you could just get a free copy of Dota (it shouldn't be too hard as the things are floating around like crazy) and that should do it. You could probably ask someone for one or trade like a scrap for one.

There's a steam market now and I think copies are being sold for like two cents.

There isn't a gift button for the item and before you tell be where to look there isn't one anywhere
