Linux problems
I've been having problems playing TF2 on my computer. It's a Linux that runs Intel and for some reason whenever I start the game, it goes to a black screen with only the mouse cursor visible.

Which Linux distribution/version? Did you leave steam beta running do downloand the entire game (I left mine running overnight on DSL)? I just started using Steam beta in 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 with experimental nvidia graphics version they recommended. So far I have just been tf2 training and running training games (have not played on-line yet), but that all works fine.

But I need to expand my Linux partition because it said tf2 was going to use about 10 GB of my file space and df shows I am using 94% after downloading and running it.

The only thing I have not figured out yet is how to get flash to work for Steam Store (even though I put 32-bit flash where I was told Steam expected to find it), because Linux Steam is apparently only 32-bit at this time (do you have ia32-libs-multiarch installed if running 64-bit?).

I"m running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS x64

are you running an nVida video chipset? are you running the latest non-free drivers?
I'd look there first.
