I feel like threads with "Buying" or "Selling" in the title, as well as other common trading terms which are not used in general speech, should be moved via an automatic filtering system to a board they belong it, or simply inform the poster that the forum is not for trading. Harsher bans beyond the forum could also work, since many people who trade here are just looking for a quick sell, and don't care about being banned; either way, while the Moderators do an excellent job and the sticky is an obvious deterrent, some people just need to learn the hard way.

Why do you really care? I always wondered why people even bother saying this is not a trading forum when such a post comes up. Just let the mods do their job.

Automatic filtering always catches innocents in the middle.
As much as those terms are not used in general speech they are used in trading discussions.
You'd be moving trading threads, but also threads about trading. The first is not allowed here, the later is.
(In fact, your own post would be tagged, since you managed to use the word in general speech ;) )

And in any case, traders will find their ways around the wordfilter, starting a wordfilter arms race. With regular users caught in the middle.

I meant in the title of a thread, which would generally assist in sifting through the problem of people not caring about bans; sure, they could catch innocent people in the middle of it, but there's a relatively easy way around it. Inform the poster beforehand that they should not post it in this forum if such a word is used, and for those who go around the filter with the intention of selling or buying an item, rather than a discussion about trading, well, the former would receive a harsh ban, preferably something that would affect them outside of the forum.

The words in a thread itself is one thing, but the words in a title are a different manner; there are many ways to paraphrase common mistakes, especially if there were to be a warning, which would easily allow moderators to inflict bans that actually matter, rather than nail someone who already sold whatever item they were trying to sell with a forum ban, that they don't care about because they don't use the forums.
