Save the Keyconomy
About 2-3 months ago, keys were a nice 2.66... even before that, keys could be bought for 1 ref. Now, they're 3.33-3.55 and rising. So... crazy idea... save the keyconomy.

1). Stop crafting scrap. The main reason keys are worth more in refs is because refs are now worth less. Stop crafting metal and just look for scrapbankers... or go to scrap.tf which will give 1 scrap for 2 weapons, or vice versa.

2). Stop hogging all the ♥♥♥♥ing keys. People with hundreds of keys.... open them or sell them. Its a lot to ask for but if you have more than enough, sell some.

3). This idea is a bit of a stretch. Last year for Christmas, Steam gave out 1 free key to everyone. If Steam could do this again this year, the stimulus would help the Mannconomy.

4). Last thing, if you support this, ad STKC to the end of your username, just to get the word out.

This is a joke, keys will always hover around the in-game store price, or lower, or else, everyone would just buy them directly from the store.

Or just stop trading like arses and play the game.
This man is a genius

Agreed.

What's the deal with everyone wanting keys in the first place?

If you feel the urge to open a crate it's usually cheaper to just directly trade for the desired loot via metal.

people get keys for 2 reasons,

1. to open crates to try and get good stranges/un hats

2. to save then up to sell them for buds/uns

its not to hard to understand

1. Most strange weapons you wouldn't need to spend more than a key's value on if buying directly

2. You can still do that; a bud's price in keys dropped as the key's price went up, their metal value hasn't changed.

The Keyconomy crash is due to the Hatpocalypse, as foretold on page 333 of Lord Gaben's prophesy tome.

I for one don't care about the "Mannconomy." If it crashes and people stop using it, all the better.

In economic terms, metal is absolutely useless and not worth keeping. Feel free to prove otherwise.
SouthPawKarl 24 Sty, 2013 - 18:58
...don't the scrapbankers just turn the weapons into scrap?

All in all, a rather stupid way to combat rising prices.
