Cow Mangler Bug
When you reflect a Cow Mangler lazer it becomes a full crit lazer (something which isn't even possible with kritz boost). This bug has existed for months and the fact nothing has been done about it is kinda disheartening so I'm just throwing this out there.

ALTernate fire for the Cow Mangler is a charged up shot that sets people on fire and does around 90-110 damage. Are you sure this isn't what you're reflecting?

No man, we are talking normal shots. Try it for yourself, its stupid as hell.

Yup, CM5k reflects are full crits for some reason.
Not sure if VALVe regards it as a bug or a feature though for this is the way it has been ever since.
I for one think it's a pretty stupid trait for a weapon that fires 10% slower rockets already but who am I to question?

If only pyros could reflect friendly rockets... That could be soldier's flaming arrows.

But then again that might be broken as ****.

It says that it cannot be crit BOOSTED.

The critical hits from the pyro are intentional, not a bug.

Projectiles reflected will become mini crit.
If a projectile is crit, it'll stay as it.
I never got any of these reflected just because i don't use it that much.
Also mini crit and crit share the same tone when displayed in kill feed.
How much damage did you lose when the projectile of Cow Mangler got reflected?

Valve probably made this as a legit drawback to the mangler and I think its a great idea!

Your argument is invalid, I reflected a Cow Mangler projectile recently with Degreaser and it dealt mini-crit damage as with other reflected rockets (around 110 dmg), nothing like full-scale crit, which would deal over 200 dmg.
By the way, Cow Mangler can be mini-crit boosted by Buff Banner, as well as it will mini-crit players soaked in Jarate.

I have reflected manglershots and done 200+ several times and the wiki says its crits, argument is valid.

Wiki doesn't say anything, and since I'm too lazy to prove you wrong let's say argument may be valid.

If this is a legitimate thing that valve put in place then why doesn't it say so under the weapon?

Probably for the same reason they don't tell you about the 25% bigger clip, the 65% slower initial reload or the 10% slower projectile speed.

Wait, what was the reason for not mentioning these attributes in the first place?
Sentient_Toaster Jan 5, 2013 @ 6:02pm
It's probably a deliberate downside, since there is *no other projectile in the game* which automatically gets promoted to a full-crit on reflect (everything else just minicrits, unless it was already a full crit in which case it remains so) so they presumably would have had to write additional code to special-case the CM5K projectile.

Maybe it's compensation to pyro players for soldiers being able to set people on fire. :D
