I can't click on anything!

When I load tf2 and get to the main menu, I can move my cursor around but I can't click and when I roll over items, they do not highlight. The only things I can interact with are the console and the shift-tab Steam Interface. Please help I love tf2 and I already tried deleting it and reinstalling! Also when I move my cursor, instead of moving normally, it jumps around randomly, sometimes being slow and sometimes jumping ahead! I can still connect to servers by manually typing

connect 199.180.133.111

in to the console and still play, It just the main menu that is broken. Please help

to join every server i go on!

Did it work before?

Specs please, and check if you have all updates from Windows (NET framework).
Using custom HUD? What/how did you delete? More information = More possible solutions to try.

thanks, i discovered that for my maxframes config i forgot to remove -dxlevel 80 from my launch options. Apparently that was the problem. :D
