Sad for you, you accepted the trade, therefore accepted the risk to never get it or anything of equal value back.
Decide who is your friend and who isn't wisely next time and don't "lend" stuff.

It is just a key, and it is just a game.
Still, i agree with timsen, you have to make every trade go right or you lose instead of gain.

He couldn't give it back right now even if he wanted to because trading is down. Wait until that's fixed before panicking at least.
His Dudeness 6/dez/2012 às 7:17
Why would he borrow a key just to give it back? Anyways I'd only trust a friend I knew in person and where he lives... lol

In the future just follow Steam's Trading Policy
What should I NOT trade for?

Do not trade for anything that cannot be added into the trade window within Steam. The most common examples of these scenarios are the following:

Trading items/gifts for nothing in return in the first trade and expecting to get an item or gift in a later trade. There is no reason to not trade everything in one trade. You may add unlimited items/gifts to a single trade. A common example of this is adding your items/gifts in one trade. Then the other user states that they will trade you their share or the rest of the items/gifts in another trade, but never do.
And follow Trading's Golden Rule:

"IF IT DOESN'T FIT INTO A SINGLE TRADING WINDOW, DO NOT TRADE"

That Rule is old as eveything... You can now fit everything you want in the trade window now. It has been like this for a while now!

Uh, no. You can't fit a promise into the trade window, for instance...

Evaluate on what you did wrong and don't repeat the same mistake in future. Luckily it was only a key not an unusual or another rare item.

Or a CD-Key, Or a Paypal Payment, money transfer, steam account details...

Lots of people trade for lots of things that can't be fit into a trading window, exposing themselves into this kind of scams.

1 key?

Let that be a lesson

Ha, 1 key ain't crap. Be glad you didn't get scammed out of an Unusual or some Earbuds. Let this be a lesson to you for the future.
Shrubgoblun 6/dez/2012 às 11:29
He borrowed a key? Seriously? You do know that if he uses the key it will be a one time use, so he can't give it back to you. Don't lend stuff to others, otherwise you'll be eligable for a scam again.
