Pyrovision & Bronies
I was just wondering, do most bronies use pyrovision? I am not one, but i just try to live in peace with them, not raging. I also don't want to steryotype them.

Eh, some do, some don't. I personally didn't like pyrovison at first, but after a month or two, I decided that it's not so bad, and used it again. It gets old after a while. To me anyways.

Pyrovisions broken for me so it only plays the high pitched sounds and lets Balloonicorns show up.

No, I really don't like it. Too distracting and obstructive. I'd much rather see SOME blood than balloons and confetti everywhere obscuring my vision. That, and the art style just doesn't suit me all that much.

I DO :P GO BRONIE NATION!

do most bronies use pyrovision? = do black people only listen to rap music? = does everyone in texas wear cowboy boots? = is everyone in ireland an alcoholic? = are all schoolbus drivers octogenarians? = are all gamers fat and out of shape stinky nerds who live on a diet of pimple puss and shasta?

= just wants to belong to something somewhere = adults and teenagers subsidizing and perpetuating a merchandising campaign originally aimed at female tweens, but which has now been hijacked as a sort of nerd/gay friendly survival group for people who are sick of being pantsed and or wedgied, swirlied, stuffed into lockers, getting their lunch tray slapped out of their hands, etc. Sort of like reverse juggalos without drugs and orgies.

I sware it's a Beatles reference but it kinda does scream pony now that I think about it.

To answer the question, I never really see many bronies use the things, or at least people with Pony avatars. I always just assumed they use the MLP TF2 mod or the Rainbowdash Scout mod.

Pyrovision has no support for DX8. A Valve employee confirmed this in the forums sometime after Pyrovision came out.

I personally don't use any mods on my Laptop, which I use to play online, although I do have them installed on my Desktop, which I can't use to play online due to horrible Internet. I just don't particularly care about the visuals, although I do have Pyrovision active from time to time since there are achievements I haven't earned with it yet; I do try and get achievements when possible, although it's more of a hobby, since I'd rather earn them than farm them. It's not as if the achievement actually involves skill either, so I don't really see the need for it. Mods in general just break the feeling of the game for me, although if there was a way to manually disable them in game and then re-enable them without conflicting with other mods in game, I'd certainly use mine more; the fact that you can't really toggle them without booting down the game and deleting everything is annoying. Of course there could be another way to do so, a much simpler way, but I'm not aware of it; if I could, I'd probably end up playing with mods online a lot more, since if I ever wanted a change of scenery I could simply swap my mods on or off.

It's not a Beatles reference, its just a common theme that the criminally insane, and people suffering from severe amounts of denial "live in their own little world."

I think the art style you're thinking of is the animation from the "Yellow Submarine" movie. http://youtu.be/MMngpNTU3PY

It could be argued that this style of animation, or at least the high contrasting color schemes, has had a wide reaching and lasting affect on the cartoons of the last decade. Sponge Bob Square Pants, Adventure Time, The Amazing World Of Gumball, and many more shows have featured the basic characteristics. Yellow Submarine was defined by simplistic backgrounds, bright colors, dadaist set pieces (lives in a pineapple under the sea), characters with asymetrical anatomical features, and psychedelic effects used to convey plot points. Its not a coincidence that a lot of media exhibits these features, but they don't have to be considered an homage to the beatles either since this pallette is now basically an accepted story telling tool.
