It's a team cartoony first person shooter. It's not meant to be taken seriously.

It's an amazing game. Since it's free, I don't see why you shouldn't try the game out yourself. You'll most likely enjoy it :)

It's amazing, you can play on serious servers, on fun servers you can just hunt achievements and it's also perfect to meet with friends. You can use your real money to buy weapons and appearance items, but it doesn't change anything in the game because you'll find them or cn trade for them much easier. In my opinion it's the best game I ever played.

Only moddable free MMO FPS. Just don't care about the hats and you'll probably enjoy it more.

It's a class-based shoot 'em up, and one of the best free games out there for its genre.
Games are objective-based, meaning there are locations on the map to capture, flags to steal, carts to push and missiles to launch.

It also features a very well-developed, community-run economy. Currencies come in the form of scrap metal, and in more advanced forms such as keys and hats. These are traded away in return for items or as a currency conversion (4 refined metal = 1 key, roughly). Items can be bought with some of these currencies and likewise be crafted or unboxed.

Subjective and situational. You will encounter unlikable people, as you would when playing any other game - but if you find a quality server and don't involve yourself in things that don't concern you, you'll never have a problem.

Shoot things.
Blow stuff up.
Take the remains and turn them into a sentry gun.
Go green and recycle unwanted flamethrowers, explosives, ancient arabic swords and ham hocks.
Make mad stax.
Turn your stax into stacks of hats.
Play dressup.

Listen to this guy. He's the boss. Excellent description of TF2.

I don't mean to be cruel Original Poster, but this is a silly, pointless thread for one reason only:

Nobody can experience TF2 for you. You hafta start it up and experience it for yourself!

Blow up Sentry Guns
Burn Spies
Mow down Scouts
Rage at the behatted
Get more equipment

And more!

But to be brutally honest, nobody can do this for you, only you can. So stop pondering and start fighting 'cause at the end of the day, you're the one asking what the game is like, and only you can answer your own question, so go to it!

It depends what kind of games your into, first person shooters don;t usually have the best gameplay but tf2 manages to provide a funny, and happy environment.
