I have deleted my 'tf' folder, but the game will not start. please help.
I messed up downloading a HUD, so i decided to try and reinstall the folder tf. but when i press play tf2, it comes up with this. "Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesnt exist in subdirectory 'tf'. Check you -game parameter of VCONFIG setting. I have no idea what this means. please give us a hand. oh and also, when it says this hl2.exe crashes.

I think TF is needed to run the game.

And since you deleted the folder, I'm not sure if you can fix this at all.

You need to verify the game cache. tf is a crucial core folder to run the game because it has the setup files such as that one. You'll need to re-endure a lengthy re-download of that folder after verifying the game cache. Then we'll talk.

m8 ive sorted it by searching for tf in the recycling bin, puting it back into team fortress 2, resetting everything to default. thanks for you help though.
