I imagine many of you have had a time where you've wanted to imagine what a certain hat or misc looked like when you're wearing another hat or misc, or what an item looks like if you paint it a certain colour...or even a couple of poses.
I've been thinking about taking the time to make pictures showing off loadout combinations some people may want to preview.
The Mann Co. Store doesn't offer a perfect preview of cosmetics with other cosmetics, nor in a desired pose, and considering I used to contribute a bit to the TF2 Gallery,[tf2g.com]
I figured I could do some curious hatters a favour and "model" some loadout combinations. I have it figured out how to manipulate files so I can acquire the desired loadout, so now it's just down to you to decide what loadouts you want to see.
If you want to have a mercenary modelled with certain items, post in a fashion like this:Template
Cosmetic item 1: Stealth Steeler
Paint for Cosmetic item 1: None
Particle effect for Cosmetic item 1:
Style for Cosmetic item 1: None
Cosmetic item 2: Le Party Phantom
Paint for Cosmetic item 2: None
Particle effect for Cosmetic item 2:
Style for Cosmetic item 2: None
Cosmetic item 3: Cut Throat Conscierge
Paint for Cosmetic item 3: None
Particle effect for Cosmetic item 3:
Style for Cosmetic item 3: None
Pose: Shred Alert! Taunt
RED or BLU: BLU
Mann or Machine: Mann
(If Machine is chosen, an extra line must be provided: "Normal or Giant")
(If it's a custom map, provide a download link to it)
Reskin Mods: None
(If reskin mods are to be added, provide links to where I can download them for the picture(s))
(If yes to Übercharge, any paint effects on cosmetics will be nullified)
Mini-Crit glow: No
(If Kritzcharged is yes, Mini-Crit glow will be nullified)
(If picking a sheen, a killstreaker effect must be selected as well. Refer to "Particle effects" below, as to why)
Will result in something like this.
(Without the being underwater or HUD)
Of course, not all fields need to be filled in. You don't have to choose a hat and two items, you can choose one misc and a hat or just two miscs etc.
The Class field will need to be filled in especially, for all-class items.
RED or BLU is also an optional line. "Both" is a valid field however, but it'll take more time. If you choose "Both" then you must also add whether both RED and BLU versions should be in the same picture or not. If this field is left empty, I will pick RED by default.
If "Mann or Machine" isn't chosen, I will immediately assume "Mann" but like RED or BLU, you can also choose "Both" as an answer. Same requirements apply as to the RED and BLU field; will they be in one picture or seperate?
If a pose isn't requested, I will pick one by myself.
If a Hat has styles, make sure to state which style you would like, otherwise I will pick the default style.
If the "Map" field is left empty, I will pick one by myself. If you do choose a map however, you can add where specifically (i.e. on the middle CP) if you wish.
If a model reskin is needed for either a cosmetic or mercenary, you must provide a link to where I can acquire said reskin, so I can include it in the pic, otherwise I will provide a picture using the standard-issue appearance.
If a cosmetic is paintable, you can request the paint colour after the item. If left blank, I will leave it unpainted. This can also apply for unusual hat effects. Add a particle effect if you wish, but if left blank, I will not add an effect.
Hopefully this'll satisfy some mercenary curiosity because let's face it, not all of us can get every last cosmetic combination, no matter how hard we try. Sorry traders, but at least I'm offering the chance for you to see what the loadout WOULD look like...
You could also leave a request on my profile page,
but it may take longer for me to find it there...
I can also do most of the particle effects except for post-2013 Halloween update effects. They do not seem to want to render for some reason. I can also make Killstreaker effects, such as Fire Horns. Sheens are a yes and no thing - I can make the Killstreaker eye effects a sheen colour such as Villainous Violet, but I cannot make sheens on the weapons. This is because the sheenmap coding for weapons is built into the TF2 code. Something that can't be replicated at this time.
