Wild Mass Guessing: How will we open the Robo-crates? (ANSWERED)
1. A super-rare and expensive key in the Mann-co store

2. A super-rare and expensive key that can only be gotten OCCASIONALLY in Mann-up

3. An event that causes everyone's crates to unlock automatically (yeah right)

4. An event that causes everyone's crates to open ONLY IF they beat an impossible challenge only offered once a year.

5. They'll never open and we'll have been trolled by Valve

What's it gonna be?

Why would it be different from, say, the seasonal crates (all of which required a seasonal key, but that cost exactly the same as a normal key)?

Hmm...I haven't been in the community long enough to know about the different kinds of crates. Still, this one isn't related to a season, and the topic's more for fun anyway.

A standardly-priced key at the store. EOT

I dunno how you would open them, but i think i know what would be inside =D http://robots.tf2mods.net/

What I wish : a certain amount of ref to craft a key (which wil raise ref prices and lower key prices a little bit).

What will happen : a stupid key for 2.50 from the store.

people are getting way too hyped about the robocrates and should be worrying more about whatever the accompanying update will be. no one gave any cares about eerie, scorched or fall crates but now people are flipping out over robocrate. its stupid

4 months without a major update will do that to the community.

That's true, but now I'm reminded that there'll be a big update along with it (paired with something about Steampipe, right?) and I'm getting curious.

You know, suggestion 2 actually makes sense.
What if you can randomly get robo-keys as a drop in mvm?
Give more people a reason to play it again.

May be it will be reward for completing mann-up tours.

"normal keys don't fit the lock." pretty much answers your question.
You will need a key, it will be a special key.
Red Apr 30, 2013 @ 2:35am
Same as the other keys, special keys that aren't super rare and will be sought after for 1 month if they don't disappear.

How you would get that key was the main question.

I've got my money on flirting with the crate, taking it out to a club, buying it a drink and hoping the crate will open up at the end of the evening.
