Reputation help?!
So I'm trying to trade some of my more valuable items for paypal wallet funds, and I cannot seem to find anyone that would do this for me because I dont have a good 'steam reputation'.

A quick google search shows that the steam rep site is mainly a way to pick out scammers, rather than promote yourself for being a good, legit trader. So I was wondering, how does one get a good steam rep so that they can be known as 'trusted'?

Thanks,
DBodz

I promise I'm not a scammer, I just don't know how to prove it.

"I promise" is not enough. You need to proof

That is what this whole thread is about -_-

How do I prove it?
Well, how comes you have a bad reputation? The people who gave you a bad rating obviously wanted to warn others, didn't they?

you have to start small, especially if you're interested in paypal trading. No one clever would trust someone with not proof of earlier successful trades with something value

When ppl write +rep on your profile, does that mean anything?
Because I have about 20 of those...

Nope, even a serial killer would have a pages of rep irl based on that kind of thing.

He paid for gas without running off? +Rep honest trader!!

-_-

Some of the worst people out there have pages of rep, people buy rep with rep on their profiles, it has no meaning, and no use other than for people scamming the naive.

Ok, what you need to do is create a "reputation thread" on sourceop. Whenever you make a transaction on that site, you can ask the other person to rep you, which basically means they post on your reputation thread saying "+rep" or whatever. The more positive posts you get, the more "rep" you have. Profile posts aren't really trustworthy because anyone can post them, but on sourceop there's some amount of background checking, and they ban scammers as well.

just remember though, sourceop rep threads are only for trades made on sourceop.com. You can use the thread as evidence of your reputation anywhere, but don't ask people to post there if the trade wasn't made through sourceop or you'll get banned from the forum.
