Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2

I don't know witch ports to open for Team Fortress 2
So I'm trying to run a MVM Server for team fortress 2 seems easy enough since I know how to open ports for minecraft *25565* but I found 100 answers witch means 100 ports I could open so can someone give me a real answer?!?!?! is it one port or a hole range of ports is it UDP or TCP? I have no idea.....and another thing is that I want someone to test the server and see if I port forwarded correctly. I'll give you the IP once I've opened the ports

One would think you could find that yourself using this thing they have called "google". Try it instead of asking everyone to do the foot work for you.

This website is the IT person's dream: www.portforward.com
In it you'll find that they list Steam and TF2 and show these ports:
"Team Fortress 2 requires you to forward the following ports: 3478-4380,27000-27050."

also somebody asked on the forum here, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2676856
results:
"UDP 27015 - Main connection port. This is the port and protocol used by the server browser, allows clients to connect.

TCP 27015 - This port is used for RCON such as with SourceBans (if needed).

UDP 27020 - SourceTV (if enabled). You can disable this port by adding "-nohltv" to the start up command.

UDP 27005 - This is an outgoing connection used by clients. Typically you would not need to open this port in your firewall because this is for OUTBOUND connections. Port forwarding is usually only required for INBOUND connections. If you're not sure if you need this, you DON'T. People who need to open this will already know that they do because they very specificallyconfigured their firewall to restrict outbound traffic."
Thank you for the help!!! now I can run my Team Fortress 2 server! and thanks I din't know they had lists of all the ports just thought they had guides on how to do it with your router on portward.com

To quote Fullmetalchemist:
"...but I found 100 answers witch means 100 ports I could open so can someone give me a real answer?!?!?!..."
He already looked up stuff on Google, and found several answers that all didn't work. Even if he didn't look it up on Google, it's fine that he asked for help. Better here than yahoo answers :P. One of the main purposes of the steam community is to answer each other's questions and solve each other's problems.
