VAC banned, never cheated.
I was in an idleing server yesterday and it automatically exited the server, and said I was VAC banned. I am not banned from gmod though... I have no idea why I was banned. If anyone can help me or give me a legit explanation why I was banned please reply. I AM NOT A CHEATER!!! I am a legitimite player!

Yes I know it seems so, but my friend was also vac banned who was in the same server, it WAS an idle server and there WAS a hacker in the game, who was idle.

They could be a player that was the same name as you and was hacking.

Nope. I think what happened was that maybe the person on that server implemented a hack into everyone else, so everyone else would get banned. VAC bans are irreversible sadly, and they have no evidence of that either.

Nah, even if they had the same name, their Steam ID is different. Garret, try contacting Valve about this. If you truly didn't hack, Valve should be able to reverse the ban.

Or maybe my hypothesis?

I'm pretty sure idling wouln't mreit a VAC ban, as VAC only detects third-party programs. Also, you can idle in offline mode. Safer, and it doesn't go on your stats either.
vac bans are not instant they wait days or even months to ban you once you have cheated

If that were the case then it was probably the cause of the server owner.

Such a thing simply does not exist. Neither a cheater, nor a server can inject and run a cheat into your client. That's just misinformation and lame excuses from cheaters who got caught and search for an alibi.

If you think the ban is wrong, you can contact support, they will verify your ban is correct.
All VAC bans are permanent - Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and will not lift VAC bans under any circumstances.[/quote]

no one looks at your name, just typing status in console shows the steam id's of everyone on a server, names have almost no meaning in steam
