Why do low skill players flock to the skilled classes?
Why do so many low skill players like to play scout, sniper and spy? These classes are not very easy to do well with. You can watch these people get fragged over and over (and over) again.

Wouldn't it be more fun for them (and everybody else) if they picked classes that were easier to play?

Idk about that. The average COD player is much better at FPS than the average TF2 player.

Well if you put in the stereotype that all cod players are raging kids.

Plus changing from an typical FPS game to TF2 can cause some problems.

You're never going to get better with these "skilled classes" if you don't play them.

CoD is just easier than TF2, they come off of "spray everywhere and get multikills" to actually needing to aim.

I still don't understand why everyone depicts new snipers as call of duty players.

Not quite.

Saying COD is easier because you just "spray everywhere and get multikills" isn't fair. If it's easy to kill in COD, then it means it's also easy to get killed.

So you're recommending low skill players to play W+M1ing Pyros, which isn't even useful? Any class can be hard to play if you're up against good enemies and easy when fighting bad players.

It's more useful than being a sniper who hides in the back and contributes exactly nothing to a team. At leas the WM1 Pyro is a distraction and bullet sink. That noob sniper for all intensive purposes doesn't exist. It's 15vs16 at that point.

Sniper is the only one with a sight. That attracts people who play FPS games centered around sighted rifles. I've seen many noob snipers struggle to get 5 points in the same time I get 40+ as medic/pyro/soldier.

Scout, maybe because they're fast?

Spy, novelty? Instakill?

Yeah. But they won't. Part of picking the other classes is knowing how to read the battlefield. Noobs don't understand the maps and thus can't do this.

Snipers tend to be "useless", whose only purpose is to kill the other sniper.

However, once that sniper learns how to play excellently and learns how to stray off of snipers, they are devastating.

The unspoken rule : good headshotting snipers are more annoying than bad bodyshotting snipers. Because you know you can't complain without sounding like an idiot.
