Valve, you're done.
Their updates are just nerfing balanced weapons and adding even more hats.
They won't lift the stupid Halloween restriction.
They are more focused on so many other projects that TF2, one of their cash-cow games, is on the backburner.
Every "update" creates a new exploit.
They haven't fixed the melee detection error. (I swear, if somebody blames it on lag again...)

They haven't really listened to the community, as far as I know. Please tell me otherwise. (nerfing and buffing items does not count, nor do fixing map exploits)

Just give TF2 to the community, Valve.

I think a Democratically elected commitee (run through steam with topics voted on) will provide more frequent and fitting updates along with fresh new content to keep the game alive. Valve certainly won't do that anymore.

Anybody else agree?

In total agreement here. A well-formulated and constructed little speech you have here, congratulations on being the voice of what I would think to be a majority!

I'd also like to see some new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapons.

What about the Cow Mangler change? You're going to say that's bad?

I'll just point out a few highlights:

Fixing bugs, exploits and introducing balancing tweaks to weapons based on community feedback confirmed to not count as working in the community's interest.

Power to the people, yarr.

I dislike this. You can't give up hope. And you don't have to whine like a ♥♥♥♥♥ about a video game :S

I suggest that instead of a commitee, the updates occur monthly. There is a list of weapons in a new discussion section that are created by the community and that are voted on and edited or just removed. There are special servers for testing these weapons to find out if they are balanced. Every month, the weapons that are approved and recieved the highest ratings (only 10 will be used) will be put in the game. Maps have the same process, except only 5 are added and its bi-monthly.

Aye, that sounds like something I could agree on.
Just take a look at how the Advanced-Weaponiser people do it.

In one sentence you're upset that they focus on hats then in the very next sentence you're upset that they will not change their mind on a hat type restriction. There is word for that. Irony.

Because it has been so long since they did bug fix's or weapon balances or map corrections or new item updates. ~sarcasm off~ http://www.teamfortress.com/?tab=updates This page looks like a game that is currently still being supported and far from a "on the backburner" project. Just because they have not done a specific type of update does not mean it is being neglected.
They have had a different focus for this year and that is a GOOD thing.

Mr. Smee I am starting to recognize you as the king of hyperbole. Exploits and bugs are inherent to game development. No matter how hard a team may try there are going to be bugs. TF2 has gotten HUGE and there is a lot to account for. Allow me to hand you the code and see if you can make over 60 changes without one thing breaking.

As for "hit detection" melee is working as it is designed too. The hitbox's in tf2 (and most other source based games) is not skin tight. They are general box's around the model. As a result you will see times where it looked like it should have hit and others where it looks like it should have missed. P.S Yes latency does effect this. Not just your connection but the servers ability to relay what you are doing to the other person and vice versa.

There is a difference between listening to the community and taking good ideas and acting on them and Just doing whatever the community tells them to do. You are basically saying that we as a community all have the same opinion (which we do not) and know more about what is best for this game then the creator of this game (which we clearly do not) and that valve should back off.

The last thing any gamer wants is a popularity contest (which is what any attempt and forming a community board would be) in which the winners can do whatever the hell they want with the game.

I prefer the people who know what the hell they are doing stay in charge of it. They do a damn good job at listening and acting on GOOD ideas. Not just the whine's and cry's of children who do not get their way.

Just because people make troll threads out of gripes - legit ro not doesn't mean you can just assume it is all troll, and people can't post gripes w/o being trolling - nor does it mean you can treat a thread like it automatically as a troll, and hijack it. >_<
