Buff the SMG?
I bet people will hate me for saying this, but don't you think it would be a good idea to buff the SMG for sniper?

The sniper is pretty vulnerable to attacks from a close range, and since a SMG could be a better countermeasure to enemies like scouts rather than having to wait for your jarate to refill, if it wasn't so horrible.

What do you think about it (and please before you call it sh!t or "COD player lawl", please elaborate a bit please)?

I use the stock SMG becuase there are simply too many scouts and I can't pick them all off before they get close. The trick is to combo it with your rilfe, which deals ~50 damage with no-scopes. Remeber, sniper's main weakness is his vernerability at close range.

How does jarate help the enemy?

Smg doesnt need a buff. It's only good for medium and close range (close range works better).

If you can aim the SMG in close range, it's pretty decent in pushing scouts off you.

It's fine as it is. Sniper isn't suppost to win any encounters at close range, that's his weakness
Learn to track with it and its great.

How about +20% higher RoF (12 shots per second)

why should sniper be effective at close range?

C.O.D. logic maybe?

No.
I don't want those Snipers who charge into battle, SMGs a blazin', to actually be effective.

Though to be honest, if you have the bushwacka, you could always just use the Sydney Sleeper in place of jarate. If you can quickscope someone at close range with a normal sniper rifle good enough, you could always just use the jarate ability of the sleeper to do added damage/jarated them then finish them off with the bushwacka.

I ask myself the same question when I see the Jarate + Bushwacka combo.

I use the smg same as I do with the syringe gun:
When you feel threatened, s+m1 back to spawn

The smg was made for self-defense to save your butt
