"Leave a calling card on your victims" for more item sets!
With the death of set bonuses I can't help but feel that there should be more sets that leave a calling card on death. I mean why didn't all the polycount sets get a calling card effect despite losing their bonuses?
I just feel that a "set effect" for all these cosmetics/weapon sets in the game shouldn't be "no effect".

Thoughts?

They USED to have effects. Removed when valve realised it was stupid.
But yeah, more calling card sets sound fun.

Exactly, it'll create incentive to use different less used weapons to complete sets and vary up the game. Set can just be purely cosmetic and not make the player any better.

Indeed. I miss my silent decloak so much.

I guess people thought having combat advantages via equipting a specific hat along with a specific set of weaponry was unfair, as miscs were not supposed to have combat advantages, purely cosmetic.
So Valve decided to remove them, and replaced some of the effects in some sets with extra cosmetic effects to fill the void that was left when the combat advantages were removed.
However, they didn't replace all the voids in all item sets with extra cosmetic effects, and simply left them blank.
I am unsure if they did this cause they are too lazy to make cosmetic effects for ALL the item sets, or they simply don't want to cause they had something else in mind.
Or maybe they just didn't see it as important as other things they were focusing on.

It was removed because F2P's and poor P2P's couldn't get it without buying the hat, plus it made dead ringers main downside a nothingness.

Anyways, I don't really like calling card effect - effects depending on the sets theme are way better.

I agree.
Like, the dust devil that swirls around the Spy when he taunts with the Saharan Spy set on is suiting, it has a very desert like theme to it, and Fez is a popular form of hat in many desert countries.

Sure, I'm just saying I want SOMETHING, some effect (cosmetic and not giving an advantage). Whether it be a calling card or particle effect.

I think it'd be cool to have different effects for each set, and each set's effect would be class related [like wearing the Sons of Arsonry pack would make you have a fire trail on your feet or something.]

They could just remove that particular hat to the set, though.

id think if there going to release more set's , then they should make themed calling cards, Id think it'd be funny .

The whole point was to draw in money by people buying hats. As fair as it sounds, I think there would be backlash from all the premium members who like their advantages on F2Ps and Valve doesn't want to ♥♥♥♥ off paying customers!

To be honest I miss the silent dead ringer but I do think it balances the game more now that it is gone
