I hate servers that put rules like this. Sure it stops the existence of a 4th sniper, but if that 4th sniper is good, you are preventing him from playing and making a difference.

If he is bad, he is probably bad with other classes as well. So the server is just making sure there is not a concentration of bad snipers.

I always find that the time when the limits REALLY ♥♥♥♥ me off is when there are already 3 bad f2p snipers and spies cloging up the class when we really need those classes.

Putting restrictions on other classes completly baffles me on what the server is trying to achive.

well last time i was on a server, there was 7 pyros on the other team, and they all keept W + M1 everywhere

it was just extremely annoying

Those class limits are horrible, why would you believe those would in any way benefit the game?

Anyway, some actually not horrible class limits:
Class Limits:
Class limits are enabled by default, but can be turned off by server owners if they for whatever reason don't want them.
  • Scout is capped at three
  • Soldier is capped at three
  • Pyro is capped at two
  • Demoman is capped at three
  • Heavy is capped at one
  • Engineer is capped at two (Capped at one on offensive teams) and disabled in koth and 5cp by default No, these ideas aren't fueled by my hatred towards sentries and Engineer in general
  • Medic is capped at three
  • Sniper is capped at two
  • Spy is capped at one

usually that means that people jokingly pick the same classes and try to rush as the same class but the joke must have went over your head.

If he would go Sniper even though there already was three, then he isn't good.

Sniper is a class that many players suck at, even if they're good with the other classes, so no, being bad at Sniper does not mean you're most likely bad with most other classes.
Also, if they truly are bad at all classes, going Sniper only prevents them from learning anything.

They're trying to provide a balanced environment for players that want to actually play Team Fortress 2, and not How Good are you at Carrying a Team full of Snipers and Spies??? Fortress 2.

Those limits are actually pretty reasonable for 12-on-12, although a third scout may make sense in certain modes (notably 5CP). Oh, and Gunslinger on KOTH or SD is pretty much maximum anti-fun.
