Well, generally, the ideal medic loadout is following

Primary - complete personal preference, nothing is superior to other (except for blutsauger probably, because it tends to make people battle medics)
Secondary - stock medi gun is the best, but Kritzkrieg and Quick-Fix are good too
Melee - Ubersaw is arguably the best choice

Blutsauger is a good choice, if your heal target dies you can get out of the fight ok, though i dont prefer it. On long maps where it take a while to get to the front line use vita saw and overdose. The crossbow heals the fastest out of any gun in the game, so if someone is really injured you can quickly health them with that, it also has good damage if you wanna do some damage. Ubersaw is usually the go to. The solemn Vow only works in competetie TF2. All the mediguns are situation/prefation based.

A base guideline that will generally work well, although you can deviate from it if you know what you're doing:

- Overdose or stock needlegun; not a huge difference. The crossbow is potentially very nice, but not the easiest thing to use and perhaps not the best thing to start with -- not the easiest tool for self-defense.

- Stock medigun for pushing; kritzkrieg for defense. The thinking there is that a stock ubercharge's invulnerability is useful for breaking through a good defense backed by sentry guns; while defense is less likely to run up against well-placed sentry guns and can focus on killing players (and the kritz charges a bit faster, too).

- Stock or vita-saw for melee. Vita-saw is basically an admission that you'll probably die at some point with a bit of ubercharge, and this mitigates the loss slightly. Solemn Vow might work -if- you're competent at calling and your teammates are receptive.

Vaccinator and Quick-Fix have their uses, but can be fairly demanding (switching up resistance types, tagging along with jumpers and knowing when not to, being able to triage heals as the backup medic if not the push medic) and aren't the obvious choices for starting.

I use Overdose, stock medi-gun and Übersaw.

10% less damage isn't the greatest loss, and fleeing is easier if you have 10%+ charge.

Stock medi-gun is the most versatile medi-gun available. You can easily destroy sentry guns or safely clear rooms and escape when you would normally be dead in no time. Sentient_Toaster has a point, though. Kritzkrieg might be more useful when you're defending (or playing control point mode), as you'll likely find a large amount of players headed towards your position.

What would you rather have, the ability to swing slightly faster or filling a quarter of your übercharge meter by hitting any enemy that isn't a disguised Spy? If the latter is what you want (which should be pretty likely), go with Übersaw.

It kinda sucks
First, you need to have the overdose out to actually have that speed bonus, and you need 100% uber for the 10% faster speed
That's 1% faster every 10%
Chances are, you don't have 100% uber, and if you are, wtf are you doing, not using it?

Oh yea, that extra 1% speed will really be helpful...

Crossbow or Blutsauger are the the best primaries.
All mediguns are good but you need to know the right situation to use them in.
Ubersaw, although renowned for being then best choice, should not be used with Quick Fix or Vaccinator. In that case, Solemn Vow should be used. Unless your team is getting steamrolled, in which case use amputator.

Dont listen to people when they say the stock medigun is better than the kritzkrieg, that is not true, they are both just as good as each other and should be used based on situation and preference.

Primary - Crusaders Crossbow
Secondary - Quick-Fix or Kritzkrieg
Melee - Ubersaw
What I go with

Blutsauger is great on tighter maps, you can get nice health by shooting enemies in hallways with good accuracy. It got a bad rep cause a lot of people who use it don't focus on there team mates but if you balance it, it's great.
Overdose is great for running away, with max speed you get +10% speed, the boost isn't the greatest I'll ambit, but it still helps.

Medi Gun depends on the situation, but I generally use the Stock/QF.

Ubersaw/Solemn Vow
Ubersaw is good for getting uber quick, each jab gives you +25% uber and it's great if you sneak up on a weak target. Solemn Vow is pretty nice cause it helps you know if an enemy is weak and you can kill him easily or if he has tons of HP and you have to retreat.
