Team Fortress 2
What is better? Going main with one class extremely good? or using every class decently?
I want your opinion on what would be a better choice, to practice with all classes and be decent at every one, or go with one class as a main and be extremly good with that class.

Maining is good for Competitive TF2.
Decently is probably not the best.
It depends upon the availability of servers near you and what their player mixes are, and what you choose to 'main'.

Sticking to 'spy' or 'sniper' only is generally a bad idea if you're hanging around your average pub, because there are usually too many of both already. But if you're a regular on a server or with a team where most players actually prefer to play other classes, go ahead.
I would try to not be decent at every class at the beginning, but to be comfortable with 3 or 4 of them.

Going main with two classes.
A mainy-main and a secondary main, and end up being 154.681345733333333333[...]% good with your secondary main, while you're only 113.5% good with your mainy-main for some damn reason.
I still don't get how I can out-snipe >4,000 Snipers at 1,200 hours, yet only do decently well with Scout, even though I main Scout, and secondary Snipah.
If you play all classes, you can fight all classes. That's my philosophy and it works well for me.
For me I main demo, however a loch n load demoknight is not good for hightower, There I play with scout, sniper, pyro, and solly

It's called Demonadeknight.
I feel that if you are able to play one class well, you can generally play all classes well, too (Spy would probably be the exception though).

Because you're a lucky player.

Explain.

I'd disagree with that. Gamesense will carry over... but some playstyles mesh better with some personality traits than others, and the mechanical skills vary as well (hitscan vs. slower projectiles, notably; but also movement; playing heavy isn't going to teach you about how to move as a scout).

Some players are more comfortable roaming aggressively and wouldn't find playing a non-Gunslinger Engineer as interesting, and therefore probably would be less likely to invest the time in it to master the class. There are those that are the other way around, and probably shouldn't serve as the tip of the spear. Players with an aggressive death-before-dishonor mentality might be good for pushing, but you don't want them as Medics. ;)

I like to roam aggressively but I suck at everything but Medic.
I would choose main. I focus main on 1 class, but I have 2-3 classes which I train too, to be more flexible. In some situations main class is not the best choice.

I think maining as AT LEAST TWO classes is the way to go(unless they are spy and sniper), as you can play a support(if you main as one, as I do) when your team is not stockpiling on spies and snipers, and if they are, then you have another backup class. For me, I have switched between classes quite a bit(other than spy, he is my best and my fav) and currently I main as demo and spy.

I'd suggest getting really solid at a handful of classes, being able to play a handful of other classes well and being medicore at the remaining.

I've gotten exceptionally well at Medic mostly because no one else will play medic. I've given up playing spy and heavy almost entirely.

Spend most of my time as Medic then soldier/demo/pyro/sniper. Spend little time as scout and engineer and virtually none as spy and heavy.
