Why don't people like tc_hydro?

It's no mystery that nobody plays hydro. Many players haven't even heard of the map. The point of this thread is that I came to ask myself, "What's the real reason behind the lack of hydro? Poor map design or a lack of availability (not in matchmaking)?"

What do you guys think?

it's a 7 year old map, with a bad gamemode. 5cp is the same thing but superior.

I thought Hydro was well but now that I remember the difference I don't remember what Hydro looks like.

People can't follow giant arrows pointing them around so they say the map is too confusing.

Territorial Control on the other hand...

TC has a chance of being pretty good.
Look at Standin. It calls itself Control Points but it's gameplay and heart is Territorial Control.

Problem is when something doesn't work, Valve just calls quits. Just look at CTF and SD.

Ya... I actually really like TC. The whole bigger map essence and such. It's just too complex for the ♥♥♥♥ for brains commuinity...

Not to mention Valve now only release maps by the community, so if some game modes like CTF, TC or SD aren't being made by people then Valve won't do a thing.

I love Valve to there dedication of letting the fans be part of the game making process, but sometimes I'd wish they would stop being lazy and teach by example.

Too bad all TC maps aren't Valve servers. I know, too many F2ps on Valve but still, I hate playing servers with the giant voting screens and words and sounds when someone dominates someone. Just vanilla.

Doubt it. TF2 at this point is played for Payload, Arena, maybe King of the Hill but primarily Control Points.
