it's an awful item that is better off being another eyelander reskin, but it shouldn't.
any overhaul ideas/buff ideas?

The 0.5 sec extra charge length is actually quite the large boost. I think it's fine, and I actually like it more than the eyelander.

It only covers some minor distance in charge, where it won't matter if you walk a few more hammer units which can make the claidheamh mòr a direct downgrade to stock.
Really, how many situations do you find yourself using the extra range to get to someone?

It comes in use for traveling with the charge, killing targets at long range, and running away like a sissy. But really though, I just like it because of personal preference, I despise the eyelander... can't stand using it, dunno why.

Claidhaem's useless.
Give it some move speed bonus to get the Demoman up to base, and make it so that kills give you some temporary +health that depletes (kinda like the Kunai's / Powerjack's health bonus) and it might become desirable.

One could suggest that as a two-hander, it should be given attributes aimed at pairing it with the SL / ScoRes rather than a shield.

I'd quite like to see a complete rework in order to achieve that; but those two weapons are so dominant it's hard to see what you could do to Standard Demo that would make a non-standard weapon desirable. Maybe something like bullet damage resistance and less knock-back so it's easier to edge sentries without getting pushed out of cover?

It's massive, so it should keep its +range. Maybe lower RoF as a penalty to reflect how unwieldy it is? I really don't know...

Just making it charge up the Sticky Bomb's range-bar charging rate so you can sticky-kill long-range Sentry nests without giving Engies so much time to counter you would make it viable withotu shield TBH without completely reworking it.

I was thinking perhaps some self-damage resistance while it's active, but it'd probably be either too useful (gunboats, but without reducing one's offensive power in any substantial way...) or extremely situational (if it gave high self-damage resist while active but correspondingly crippled your jumping while active, it'd let you go fight in your own minefield... but unless you're in a particularly silly remake of "Double Team", are you actually going to do this often?).

My proposal is that it should be able to collect heads. But instead of increasing your movement speed and base health, it should increase either your charge length, charge speed, or charge damage (Maximum charge damage will be more than the Eyelander), or a combonation of the listed benefits. This way, it won't be so suckish and still keep to the theme of improving your charge.

Jeez, an increase charge speed? Why demo would be to fast for the naked eye

It should be like the eyelander but with other buffs for collecting heads instead of hp and speed

splash damage improvement
damage resistance

or something like that

I dunno, that pretty much makes it a direct downgrade to the Eyelander.
