Get a 20 dollar steam card, buy a couple keys, spend the rest of your steam wallet on games. Take the 40 dollars you set aside, and save it for something more important than hats.

Put it in a savings account and wait until you are 18 and go to collage.

Buy games.
I've never spent a cent on this game since the day I bought it for $10, and now I'm here.
It's not like I had any use for the hundreds of hours devoted to trading anyways.

How about you invite a girl to the movies, way better than spending 60 bucks on a F2P game.

Donate your $60 to a nice charity.

I say buy a $20 card for steam, then use the rest for some other purpose.

Get an australium force-a-nature, or upgrade your strange scatter (im presuming you have one) by getting pure and using that and your unusual to get an aussie scatter :D or u can get a cheap aussie for a different class because australium weapons look incredibly awesome

Give me the 60$

If you really want to spend money on steam make money by selling stuff in the market, so you don't feel like you've wasted 50$ on something trivial like a hat.

Or you could buy games with the money you make choice is yours.

Wait for a Steam sale, and buy games that interest you. Set aside 15$ for tf2, and the rest is on good games.
Puzzle?: Antichamber or Portal. Hands down the two best, they will both frustrate and entertain you. Alot of other good options though, find one that interests you.
FPS?: Quite alot of good options, you could try something different to other FPSes such as Mirror's Edge or possibly the Half-Life series. I believe that you can get the Half-Life complete set for $20 when it goes on sale.
Ect.
The TF2 side of the money should be keys and backpack expanders, to help you get working on trading and have space to save all that.
