New Gamemode idea
The SCOUT is restricted to MELEE.
The SOLDIER is restricted to SECONDARY.
The PYRO is restricted to SECONDARY.
The DEMOMAN is restricted to MELEE.
The HEAVY is restricted to SECONDARY.
The ENGINEER is restricted to SECONDARY.
The MEDIC is restricted to MELEE.
The SNIPER is restricted to SECONDARY.
The SPY is restricted to PRIMARY.

As you can see, these are the weakest weapon groups for each class. What's not so obvious is that this would remain balanced while actually feeling kind of realistic, as none of these weapons (except maybe the medic's) are over the top.

To elaborate, a class would only be able to use weapons in that category. The Demo wouldn't be able to equip a Chargin Targe or anything. What you would see is, mostly realistic weapons, and a real reason to pick each class. Bat, Mid Shotgun, Light Shotgun, Sword, Heavy Shotgun, Pistol, Syringe Gun, SMG, Revolver.

Furthermore, I can see players getting like $300 per kill/round win, and once they get $1000 they can buy back one of their other weapon categories, good until they die.

Yeah... no. That would be completely unbalanced. Scout and sniper would be useless.

The demo's weak weapon is the melee?Dude,there is a reason they call the demo,a ''demoknight''.And besides,you never wanna mess with a demo wielding the half zatoichi or ullapol caber.

Not really, scout would still have his speed. sniper might be useless when considering the medic--- I really just want to restrict the medic altogether, as his weapons aren't even realistic. maybe make him a melee.
As a side note, you can play this mode any time you want by limiting yourself to these weapons. Just don't expect it to be fair.

The demoknight really needs to be able to charge, by restricting shields I think this is balanced

if you think that's what would happen then you don't know the weapons. I honestly think medic would be hands down the best class for this "mode". Blutsauger would destroy everything. Also, sniper would be useless. Like... completely useless.

By that logic, so would the Engineer. But I think close quarters will make the shotguns more important. And, I can't tell you the medic is at all balanced in this idea. Maybe making him melee, which would enable amputator taunt.

I think demo with only melee is already op espcually when equiped with ullapool caber.
