Slug shotgun for Scouts! Who's with me?
Ever since they REBALANCED (notice I didn't say nerf, 'cause people were giving me crap for this -_-) the Baby Face's Blaster, I feel like he has no more ranged options. Now yes, the argument will be that the Scout isn't meant for ranged encounters. But come on, this if TF2! TF2 is supposed to have wonky items that sets it apart from other shooters! Nobody cares if there is a gun that can do mediocre performance in close range and rips things apart, as long as everyone has fun, right? That's also the point of game balance! So, here's my suggestion:

Scatterslugger:

+100% accuracy
+10% projectile velocity
-9 Pellets
No Damage Drop over range
Damage is always a constant 60 unless a mini-crit or crit
Built in Sniper Scope: Right click to zoom in
Zooming in makes you move only 10% slower than normal
Viewkick is added while added zoomed in
20% slower firing speed


What do these stats mean?

Of course, this means that it will be harder to hit people in close range, but at longer range you can output more damage, and you have to time your shots so that the viewkick doesn't destroy you. let me know what you think :)

Cool Idea, Probably needs the ability to 1 or 2 hit other classes with 125Hp.
Basically it should only have 1 or 2 shots per clip. That would balance it enough.

A 30% slower firing speed as well as lower damage or a damage drop off might be a better idea. Also, The sniper scope is a bad idea, essentially makes him into a crappy sniper. I like the idea of a long range shotgun, but if this were to happen, he'd need to focus more on annoying people at range than killing them when using this weapon.

No scoping. It's unnecessary, it's just supposed to be a sawn shotgun with slugs, not a rifle. It also kind of defeats the purpose of scout. How are you supposed to run around if you're zoomed in? I understand it's supposed to reward accuracy, but it shouldn't turn the scout into a class he's not. Take spy's accuracy weapon for example, the Ambassador. That doesn't have a scope.

Well, at least he has a chance against snipers like he usually does, but also makes him great against pyros now too as well as harrrassing the heavy/medic combo.

Scout is already good at both of those things. He can outmaneuver pyros very easily, if you're having trouble with pyros as a scout you're doing something wrong. Heavy/Medic combos also shouldn't be a problem. Flank from behind and get some good meatshots on the medic, he'll be dead faster than he can react, and you can try to take down the heavy or you can just as easily run. Your teammates will easily be able to take care of an unguarded heavy.

I know he is, but this will make him amazing with it.

I kinda doubt that. Scout really isn't about range to begin with, he's about using his speed to outmaneuver enemies and using flanking strategies to get behind enemy lines so he can get those lovely meatshots.

Now that I think of it, you're more right.
He's only good for close range stuff really.
This slug gun can really help the scout for stuffs.

While that may be true, the pistol seems like it will shoot wherever you don't point it. The inaccuracy is too much of a problem for me. It's only good as a fallback weapon. The shortstop, yes, it does have a very, very tight pellet spread, so this is a valid argument, but a shotgun is a shotgun, meaning it only works in close range without slugs or some other mod, and the Shortstop doesn't output enough damage at long range. Medium range, it might work well, but at long range the damage drop is too much in my opinion.

This is awesome, I didn't expect so much feedback after 2 hours :D Steam is a greater community than I've been aware for that last year that I've used it. Thanks guys.

What type of cruel monster are you? Who would fire slugs out of a shotgun? SLUGS ARE LIVING BEINGS! They don't deserve to be tortured like this! How would you feel if a guy shot YOU out of a shotgun?
