What's the most played game type/mode?
For example, Payload, CTF, Att/Def., etc. Which game type has the most players, is the most popular, and has the most populated servers?

I like playing big games with a lot of people.

I'd say Attack/Defense and payload are the most popular. Based on my usual experiences finding servers, those two modes are generally the most consistently full or near-full.

You could just find a server with a lot of people on it, instead of telling the game to find a server for you. Sorry, not really the answer you were looking for, but...

You can find any gamemode with a full server, the popular ones just have more full servers.

Well you kinda did answer my main question even though I didn't state it directly. Thanks for that. I totally forgot I can just look up the populated servers instead of just clicking Play Multiplayer. But are those servers offical TF2 servers? Because when I let the game find a server for me, it assigns me to official Tf2 servers.

Another question: what's the difference between offical and non-offical servers?

I just read about that on the Wiki. Isn't it patched now? Like joining one is not as good as before the patch therefore it's pointless?

Official servers are guaranteed to have no plugins/downloads, and are owned by Valve. Unofficial are owned by someone, so they have control of what maps can show up, or if the server even changes maps/has a time limit/uses plugins, and so forth. Of course, some unofficial servers might just be laggy, and that just means they shouldn't be hosting a server. You'll generally find this on Boot Camp servers (due to the fact its kind of hard to be a regular of a Boot Camp server). Plugins include things like rtd, infinite MvM money, and various commands that can be entered in the chat for that server.

I believe it's either Payload or Capture the Flag.
