BECAUSE ITS NEW.
like when the MvM came out.
You seem to misunderstand the point. It's about getting the attention of people who like TF2 and are mostly oblivious to what it can do for them besides the stuff they see on the main menus.
Sound good
I don't find much value in pub play where its 80% about team stacking and 2 minute rounds or trying to penetrate a towering defense alone with the rest of the team getting dominated by a single pubstomper. Finding a game with anything that resembles balance takes time and even then the teams are prone to re-stacking quickly if one side starts to do better. The servers without restrictions easily suffer from 5x classing and servers with restrictions suffer from noobs reserving the slots.
I would love the idea of skill-based matchup (however rudimentary) and meaningful class limitations. But my hours I can put into the game are too few and irregular to consider competitive. So this kind of gameplay option would definitely be something I would be interested in.
I think it would need restrictions or quickly turn into smaller versions of current pubs. Anyways, I would be okay with that idea.
If it weren't for our lovely community.
EVRYONE would go and try it. Even these who haven't played 15 hours of game yet. Who don't know anything abou the game. It wouldn't be "competetive" gamemode, It would be official version of Highlander matches. Idea is nice, but just can't work.
WTF are you talking about? Why it should be Valve vs. Community? If Valve would decide to implement this, it would be with support of community. They would never go directly against it. Besides, community leagues have a few VERY UGLY downsides.
And waldo, please stop making threads like this. I know you may just want to hear some opinions, but you and Spencer Pootis have already made a name in community. You know where Im heading, right?
that is the basic idea of it, yes.
