Opinions on Collectors items
I've had about 10 different Collectors items but a lot of people don't know about them or just don't care for them. I just want to know what you think about them because they don't give anything extra and their prices started off expensive and have now gone really cheap mostly likely to be because more people are getting the Collectors Chemistry Set drop.
What do you think?

They're forced value to the greatest degree. While it's hard to argue with something that's made of 200 of the same item isn't impressive, and holds some level of value, there's just no real reason for it. It's probably the most obvious of several ploys by Valve to add valuable items to the economy without directly altering the way things work.

Also stranges count the amount of kill you've had rather than just standing there and being useless like a vintage or genuine.

Well, lets put it this way:
genuines and vintages(etc) are limited. Collectors are new and easy to obtain.

Even strange is pointless imo, who gives a ♥♥♥♥ how many kills you have. It just shows how long you've played the game, which isn't something to be that proud of, really. But that's going to be a really unpopular opinion.

I have some vintage weps, but they were given to me for free - To then sell for a few extra scrap.

It all depends on whether or not they stop dropping the sets, and if so how many there are.
Collector's items are NOT common. I have three, 4th in progress.
All of mine have less than 30 in existence, one is the 14th made (16 exist now)

They currently can be killstreakified, and probably given Spectral Flame too (if that happens again some Halloween) and who knows - maybe even strangified some day.

(There is ONE Collector's item that can be strangified NOW, but I forget which one it is. The only Collector's Strange that exists... it might be a festive too, don't remember)

So if set drops are limited to 100 or 1000 or whatever, EVENTUALLY once the quantity is known and (if) they are rare, price will go up.

IF. tf2 still exists as a viable platform itself by that point...

I think Collectors should have extra features, like maybe a particle effect or something, as it is it's just a normal weapon with red text. At least strange weapons make me feel good for having all these kills ;~;.
